I think that life gets a whole lot more interesting if they've taken the money. See, as I understand things, the price that they put up is an offer to contract. If it turns out that the price was wrong (as they say in the T&Cs) then they could argue that they never intended to contract at that price. Which is pretty much the argument that they have put out.
However, taking the money changes things. They have decided to enter the contract at the price they offered.
Then, on the other hand, we do have the principle that one should not profit from the mistake of another.
Lastly, and cynically, what if this were a form of guerilla marketing. Make enough noise and suddenly the things are flying off the shelf?
