I put a lot less effort in than you "greasemonkeys" who feel you are entitled to a price shown on a website and are incapable of even reading their terms and conditions, which an intelligent person would not even need to read as we'd be aware these terms existed already.

And tell me who the big man is now with you sitting behind your screen making idle threats? I'd tell you to your face you are a twat if I saw you ranting in a shop about them being liable to sell you something when it is obvious an error was made and the terms state they cannot be held to them!

Fair enough, but why do you let some git having a hissy fit over a laptop deal gone wrong (so ganstanerd lol) get to you? If it does bother you so much, go hang out at a nearby Incredible Corruption. Trust me, it won't take long for someone to start having a rant (their pricing guarantees hourly rants) and you can just purge the urge and klap him.

Anyway, called them just now. "item has been removed from website" - they need to wait for "supplier to confirm how many they can sell at that price" (the R500 discount). Then this number will be made available to those that ordered at R1008 (me, for one). Process could take "up to 48hrs."

This is not encouraging, in fact it's a bit ridiculous. Had that price been correct, they could have shipped already. Now there is an added delay as they weigh up the cost of their R500 off offer.

If, for whatever reason, there are suddenly not enough units available for me to get one at the R500 off price, I'll be really pissed off. Too many frikken hoops to jump through here.
 
Well I've sent a pm to their rep here and emailed them, still waiting for a response.
 
I was told 30 minutes and it would be up :/ ja would suck if it is magically sold out, although I'm sure we can trust Kalahari, they've never screwed me over, any of you guys?

I wasn't saying PnP = Kalahari, I was merely pointing out that some retailers do honour their cock-ups. it was more directed at Lancelot's piece about people arguing with the cashiers.

That aside, PnP Hyper DO sell laptops - and ScanRite applies to those too.

Ahh, if it was aimed at me then it would be rude of me not to respond :)

Firstly, Kalahari's terms clearly state that they cannot be held to any errors made. Secondly, I would love to hear about any real life case where a laptop was given for free because of an incorrect price. Finally, I realise you are talking about the physical shops here but it is interesting to note that on their online shop they say this :

Prices seen online are estimated (indicative) prices. You will however be charged the same price as in store on the day of delivery.

Hi Guys

Notebook will be back on the site shortly -- we've just been sorting out the pricing glitch that caused the problem in the first place -- will come back on at full price (R4999) as we can't make the special available to everyone on k.net but for thems that had an order at R1100 and want to reorder at the R2500 -- place an order with EFT as a payment method and then PM me your order number and someone from the call centre will discount your order and then contact you to facilitate the payment.

Will post here as soon as its available to order again

I'm not saying any laptop was given free at a PnP, all i'm saying is some retailers do promise to honour their advertised prices, PnP is one such retailer, and if I were to find an item (including a laptop) marked incorrectly, their T&Cs say they'll give it to me for free.

I personally have never read, nor explicitly accepted, other T&Cs for other physical stores. But I'd expect, as a minimum level of competency, that they keep their prices up to date, otherwise I'm entitled to moan when they scan it and tell me I must pay them more than what it was advertised for.

Maybe not quite the same as a laptop but I got a set of Wii Drums for R250 from Incredible Corruption because of a cock up.
