Anybody need a laptop?

Its just been a authorisation so far -- we've reserved the funds but not actually charged you -- confirming now when the auth will be reversed, if necessary I will organise a special batch to the bank to get them all processed

Confirmed that the authorisation should have been reversed immediately -- we just hit your card to ensure that its valid and that you have funds. If anyone's authorisation hasn't been reversed then send me a PM with your order number and I will get the admin guys to contact the bank to make sure it gets done

We only ever had 20 units at the lower price (even there it would more than a R1000 loss), the rest (and there were a lot more) would be at three times that loss per unit.

so then your system should not have accepted orders over 20?

and then don't forget the people who phoned to confirm the price!

so from your IT dept to your sales and warehousing, nobody knew what they were doing????

anyhow not the end of the world, didn't really need one anyway

So... Was the whole thing "A Giant Mistake"?

Great, if I decide I still want one, at R2500 or R3k, will you let me know if there's stock?

I'm curious, can you (am_nesia) give us a rough total of how many laptops were sold? I'm just curious how many people are gona be complaining for years and not be super stoked about how awesome kalahari is because they gave us laptops at the price they listed

again, free publicity for years, and word of mouth is the best publicity  just saying :D

Wait are there only going to be 20 of these available? :/

OK- I'm going to let them cancel my order (with full refund). If anyone wants to piggyback on my order to get the laptop at R2,500, PM me. I'll need cash up front, and prefer a Cape Town buyer so I can deliver it to you after they deliver to me. I'm not sure if I can change the delivery address...

No extra charged :) R2.5k and it's yours.

ok so is this laptop worth 2500????
oh and whats a parlatone?

Not really, 32bit so not much chance of upgrading much of it in future, they are getting rid of old stock.
Probably get the same price or better from any rectron reseller.

Its not a bargain but not a bad price either. Kinda average, like all Kalahari's prices.

Under corporate news, 2009 product they are busy trying to flog off to the unsuspecting customer.

Edit: Also pretty sure that the R1200 price is Kalahari's cost price.

Parlatone: Something that is more noticeable than granny's kitchen wallpaper when new. It does tend to fade fast and will try make up for that by bombarding you at every turn be at in your supermarket adverts or on take away boxes (and now on a friendly laptop pricing fsck-up near you).

Ok i want to know whats happening with the swap for the girlfriend i have a old laptop plus a camera with nawty videos on that can i use that to bid ?
