Well for starters unpacking it, its is digitally signed as Blackberry Limited app and even points to https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bbm

Just make sure you do not set APK-info in "Open with" for the APK's else it will overwrite the shell extension and replace all the icons to its own.

Learned that the hard way.

All of them Android ones should, and that is why I know its server load issue cause they can block the Android app without blocking iPhone ones, yet they stopped the iOS roll out after Aus.

I think they stalled so long with the release because they had to run #BBMForAll past the new owner at first and also yes they weren't ready.

So the app has officially been launched now... The old one (leaked) I got off a link in this thread didn't work, had to uninstall it and re-install from the Samsung App Store...

EDIT: I see there's a new option in settings to hide the icon... yayyy
