Anyone experiencing degraded speed?

*sigh...

and I never say *sigh.. :(

btw, 227 worked for me, but anyway good to hear about that proxy :/ I'm no fan... Hope they can keep it up, but I don't have much faith.

O my word...tonight is THE worst that iburst has ever been.

Nothing works. Except for this site! Amazing...

EDIT: i just read the previous page. i have also been getting blank pages in FF and IE the whole night, as well as the dying IP's. ADSL is only a phone call away, and i am SERIOUSLY considering it.

Thanks got it...

My speeds are back! 64, 227 & 226 are dead; 228, 235 - 238 has been taken out of service, 224 is flying!

They have also removed the proxy, thank god and shaping has seemed to have disappeared for the moment.

I HAVE BROADBAND ACCESS AGAIN!

Yeah I noticed that those IPs I mentioned are back, but when I got the 196.46.64.xxx earlier today a few times it was stone dead.

Lets hope they've learnt to stop messing around with it when it was working fine before they fiddled a few weeks ago.

Hi MrH, tx got the PM - agreed.

Network is still running smoothly, no issues my side - speed back at 1Mbps, no timeouts, browsing is fast and VoIP is great, downloads are brilliant!

Hope it stays this way.

We can but hope, then again as long as they don't fiddle it might just stay the way it should be.:)

Hopefully the Wednesday night "fixes", or whatever it is they do, sorted some of the issues out.

Then again I don't think it actually went down at all last night...

Well we had enough and decided to cancel our business iLAG subscription (can't even call it a service as the damn thing is more down or DEAD slow).

Tried calling them yesterday to cancel and was past on to 5 different departments....they don't know their a$$ from their face...heldesk says they can't help we need to chat to accounts. Accounts say they don't deal with it...blah blah blah.

Anyways. We emailed every address available stating we're canceling the non-service, almost dial-up speed, account we have with them and have phoned the bank to put a stop order on all payments to the idiots. :D

4Meg DSL is SO MUCH BETTER!!!! AND STABLE (oops....I meant a LITTLE more stable :D )

I have observed an interesting charateristic wrt the speed of my link. My host is linux, and I tend to keep the link up and open 24 x 7, except for a forced restart at month end.
However, the longer the link is up, the slower the response time gets. Dropping the link and restarting it (and changing the IP) helps a bit, but physically switching off the modem and restarting it seems to reset it properly back to maximum speed.

This is actually symptomatic of a memory leak in the software; I wonder if anyone else has experienced these symptoms.

Somewhat off topic but still related to connection iissues... We have had a rather frustrating problem over the past few days, not with speed but with international dying every 20 mins - 1 hour. It's only for a minute or so that it pegs, but if you're playing an online game, it gets rather annoying. It seems to be iBurst only as whenever this happens, its only the iBurst players geting booted from the game and TeamSpeak... Short of that, connection is flying.

It seems you are not the only one...

Hi Pat

I am having similar issues with Linux running a VPN connection to facilitate remote usage of Chase (browser based account management software).

I first thought it was related to signal strength, MTU, outdated firmware, tunnelling settings, OpenVPN software - tried different versions, changed all the configuration options, etc. however the issue persist. (Running same software & settings on a Win box with no issues)

If you find a solution or have more info you can post here it will be appreciated.

Regards

Bandwidth disapeared today

Was getting great connectivity this morning but from this afternoon has dissapeared completely. Can hardly browse this site. Download Accelerator is giving me 1KB per second downloads. Last time I had those sort of speeds was in the early 1990's

I'm connected to the Bryanston tower. IP address: 196.2.120.xx

Very frustrating!!!!

Has the major power failures have anything to do with degraded service? Afterall, aren't all BS linked?
