Anyone here running a stable high end hackintosh?

For your LAN google "yukon 88E8056 kext", the first few links should sort you out.

Are you using Multibeast?

Thanks. I found what I thought was a kext on kexts.com, but it was a PKG , and after installing it messed my graphics up , and still the LAN wasn't working... :(

Managed to fix the graphics somehow though, but no LAN still.

I used Multibeast yeah

Ultimately if it doesn't work, you can buy a network card, if you really need it. There's a few wifi cards that work well too, the ASUS WL-138G V2.

Anybody got retail 10.6.4 running with sound & proper resolution in VirtualBox?

I just did my own thing looking at the first two guides and it installs fine. I'm however battling to get the resolution to change as per the last guide. I tackle sound later.

Running VB in Linux.

Let me know if you get gfx working right. I've given up on it, but it would make my job a lot easier if I could set the resolution.

Not there yet but I've managed to get 1152x864 and 1280x1024 resolutions although those were not what I specified. I'll keep trying.

I'm not so concerned about resolution, I'm only using it as a 3rd testing platform at work. But 2D acceleration would be great, so my computer doesn't feel like like someone poured tar in it each time I fire up my OSX VM... :)

I doubt that's going to come right any time soon. You would probably need guest additions for that which won't happen.
