xnets BEWARE
for those considering using Xnets. Beware!
I used them for several years and have always had a somewhat temperamental connection.
Last year I moved the Sedgefield where my signal became so bad that I was unable to upload or download anything. I lost thousands of US dollars in failed contracts because of this and often had to use a local internet cafe to upload my files.
They sent various technicians around (many of which did not show up at the arranged times- or at all)
Each technician blamed the previous technician for the problem. No one fixed my problem.
One technician even left a sharp knife behind in my garden that I found my baby daughter playing with.
The boss at George (Henry I believe) refused to respond to my email inquiries to him explaining the situation.
He even suggested (via a technician) that the problem was due to me using unstable uplaod and download pages. This is not the case. The pages work fine when I use my computer on other peoples connections.
After six months they still had not fixed the problem but they continued to bill me for a full connection.
I have now moved over to Hillbert (as have many other people I know who were previously xnets customers) and have a much much better service.
In my experience, xnets provide a substandard service and (in my case at least) do not honor the contract with their customers. Their communications (especially when it comes to returning calls) is very bad. If you have a problem, don't expect much in the way of adequate service
Their staff seem in general not to be highly trained.
