Anyone use SD storage on their Mac?

Hello all,

Curious if anyone has thought of using / already uses the SD card as additional (semi) permanent storage?
For instance, moving their Music library onto a SD disk?

Came across a possible "solution" below - it's designed to sit flush with the body of the laptop - so one can presumably leave it in indefinitely, and not worry too much about it being damaged in transport...

See the company is based in Taiwan, have a mate that side who could presumably pop one in an envelope, and send it over...

Since this would work out wayyyy cheaper than going the SSD secondary-drive-installation route, it has a certain appeal... Would there be any lag-issues in pulling the music off the SD card?

If I am not mistaken, the SD slot is part of the USB assembly, meaning (pre-USB3) process fragmentation will occur...

...plus the MicroSD class needs to be taken into consideration. Anything below 10 will suck.

Of course, I stand corrected (and probably will be).

Class 10 should be fine for general storage! +-10mb/s

Cool... Will see what I can find... Sandisk would probsbly be best bet... Though a 64GB class 10 will probably be in the region of R1k, if not slightly more... a third of the price of a SSD at least 3x times bigger in terms of storage... so maybe I'll just do some saving...

And you may be restricted by USB. Do this:

Mine is USB 2. Serial ATA and therefore SSD will be infinitely faster.
