Anyone with Geekbuying experience?

Damn :( I really want to order something from Geekbuying - but reqading others' experiences - it just makes me sad
 
I think the current problem is Aramex. Their "service" is pathetic of late. A package leaves HK goes via Dubai to JHB. 3 days normally. It then takes them upto 2 weeks to get the package through customs and to you. I understand that customs can take 3 days, but they never contact you for details if they need them. They wait to you phone and query why a package has been sitting in JHB for a week. Excuse after excuse.

I have resorted to ordering from SunSky where possible as they offer DHL. It costs about R100 more but its fast and they are on the ball contacting you if they need some paper work.
 
I can attest to the uselessness of Aramex! I've ordered 2 items from Gearbest in the past and both items were declared missing/stolen. Their customer support is unbelievably poor and there is zero urgency to resolve any problem. Stay far away!

tinydeal & teknistore also offer dhl shipping. teknistore has the lowest dhl rates I've see, about us$25 for a phone.

Got my phone from tinydeal, takes 5-7 days to your door from when they ship. dhl invoices you before it even arrives in the country and it takes a few hours to clear customs.

Also look for online coupons as you can knock the price down by about $10-20 depending on your luck.

True, they did tell me if I do not have it by the 14th of July they will refund me. So from their side I would say they are being reasonable.

Last year I waited 5 months for an ebay order. Spent most of the time at SAPO.
 
I've had an item resent because the post office couldn't find it. Ok it was just a R20 phone cover. When I went to collect the replacement at the post office they gave me 2 packages. The one had just been sitting there. No notification went out and it wasn't on the system.

It's fine if you don't mind waiting months for something and having to wait longer when it needs replacement.
 
I placed two orders, one for the phone and another for cover and screen protector - as luck would have it JIMC picked up the extras first and it is now finally showing on SAPO tracking. Would have preferred to get the phone first...
