It appears there's an issue with vers. 1.4.2 with browsing users lists, Pls upgrade to 1.4.3 Its more stable :)

Hey Baphomet. Fancy meeting you here :)

I just want to say I was on StrongDC++ and browsing user lists worked fine. Then about a week ago - nuffin. (so I am sugegsting it may be server side) Installed Apex then but 1.4.2 so still have the issue. I'll roll back when I have time :) Work around is to download user list instead of browsing. Takes a little longer but what the hey.

I recommend people joining the Hub - many many goodies to be had.
 
Apexdc 1.4.2 is the problem, there is a bug that doesn't allow browsing of lists, so for now please Stay on 1.4.1 ... or if u are on 1.4.2 just install over your 1.4.2. Everything should work as normal again,,

Please use Apexdc 1.4.3 (Do not Upgrade till further notice)

NB* IN ORDER TO DOWLOAD OR USE THE HUB, PLS DO THE FOLLOWING

1. REGISTER in the mainchat text box type.. +regme followed by a space and a passw.

2. Type /fav in the mainchat text box,with no spaces before /fav. It'll say that you added hub as a favourite.

3. Click on the Orange star icon, on the toolbar at the top, It will open Favourite hubs Tab.
Tick The Circle of Fire Hub, Highlight the other 2 international ones that are there and DEL them.

4. Right Click on The Circle Of Fire Hub Address and select Properties
Type your Password in there

NB* File > Settings > Share (Please Select all Media on pc be it game Isos / Movies / Series / App setups etc) Absolute Min Total 40 Gbs...

YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD TILL YOUR SHARE IS A TOTAL OF 40GB PLUS....

In the same place below where you select your share directories, Change the time to 5mins and 999mbits speed. This will auto add or hash new files when u add them.


5. Click File > Settings > General ( Fill in your Internet Service Provider and then Your LINE SPEED ) In your Description


YOU NEED TO DO ALL THE SETTINGS BELOW


6. NB* DISABLE DHT
File > Settings > Advanced > UNTICK "Publish shared files on DHT and use it for searching alternate sources"
then change / / > untick > enable safe and compressed transfers

7. Change UPLOAD SLOTS AMT IN File > Settings > UPLOAD SLOTS < 384k LINE = 1 SLOT > A < 512k LINE 2 SLOTS > A < 4 Meg LINE 2 / 3 SLOTS, 10 meg at your discretion >

8. File > Settings > Appearance > WINDOWS,, at bttm select TABS on Top (Easier to See Pm's etc)

9. Next, so u can BROWSE LISTS by DOUBLE CLICKING a USERNAME in main room...

10. File > Settings > on the left of ADVANCED click - then find new menu select > Experts only, on the bottom right > double click user in userlist action CHANGE TO BROWSE FILE LIST
Change double click user in mainchat to PUBLIC MESSAGE ,,, so in chat u just double click a user name to redirect chat to.
File > Settings > Advanced > Security ... Untick All TLS options at the top of the window


PLEASE SHARE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE, SHARE EVERYTHING YOU DOWNLOAD FROM THE HUB, INVITE YOUR FRIENDS, STAY CONNECTED, AND HAVE FUN,

CONNECTION SETTINGS

How are u connecting to dsl... is it using (1) pppoe ( DIALING your internet connection into modem)
or (2) User Passw for your internet connection SAVED in modem
If its first option, make sure the points a) b) and c) are correct as per below.
If it's Option (2) DO ALL THE FOLLOWING SETTINGS

FILE > SETTINGS > CONNECTION
Select Firewall With Manual Port Forwarding
a) Bind Address I.P is 0.0.0.0
Below that is TCP – (The port no u enter here is 60616)
Below that is UDP - (The port no u enter here is 60616)
Below that Is TLS - (This is a secure Port Protocol Leave it as 0)
Below that Is DHT/UDP - (Leave this on 0 as well)
b) Wan I.P - Leave Blank
c) Outgoing Connection - on Direct Connect

DO PORT FORWARDING ON YOUR ROUTER FOR TCP AND UDP using same port number as entered in apex - 60616

Start > Cntrl Panel > Firewall > Add/Allow a Program or Feature Through Firewall.
Browse to Apexdc.exe And add it to allowed Programs / TICK HOME AND INTERNET ZONES
Also Add as Exception to any other Internet Security you make use of.
**** PLS when restarting Apexdc, rt click the shortcut and run as admin if you on win 7 or vista, sometimes settings arent kept if not done.

Double click the link select add to download Once done Open (Download) Cntrl - Z Folder and extract all rar to Apexdc > Emopacks folder wherever you installed apex (usually program files or program files (x86)
Once done in Apex, rt click smilie (face) at the end of this line, select hubnew and rejoin hub,,

The countdown is almost on its way as the Circle of Fire team is working against the clock to get the latest version of their website up and running. Be sure to keep your eyes on the site as we are planning some interesting and exciting new features to the site
 
In some case very good speeds, Torrents rely on seeds, however it isn't as controlled in terms of how many seeds a person has on their line, A lot of time users will just seed as much as possible, therefore giving a very slow speed in order to get a good ratio or points. The hub is ratio free, so you can download as much data as you like...
:) Just a Minimum of 40gbs Shared is asked for

PLEASE NOTE,,, SPEEDS OF THE HUB ARE NOT CONTROLLED BY THE STAFF OR ANY HUB MEMBERS.
DETERMINING FACTORS ARE :-

1. The line speed, which telkom graces upon us !!!
2. The Amount of slots a user has on their line speed
3. The Amount of slots in use uploading at the time from that user
4. The Amount of "The Same Files" that are shared on the hub.
5. Isp Shaping, And Problem with Local peering between mweb and telkom

10 Steps to Getting Started Quick and Easy!


1: Download ApexDC++ with the link provided.

Please use Apexdc 1.4.3

Use the local links below to download apexdc 1.4.3
32 bit and 64bit

Download both rar's before extracting them.

2: Install ApexDC++ and launch program. If your firewall asks whether to allow it or not, ALLOW IT!

3: Click FILE / GENERAL. Fill in a NICK you'd like to use, and a description, please incl Your Internet Service Provider name followed by line speed info eg.4meg telkom / mweb etc...
At the bottom you will see 2 tabs that have Automatically connected to International hubs, Right Click On the Tabs and Close them.

4: Click File / Quick Connect. A Pop up field will open, in the space Fill in the following in the field thehub.activedns.co.za:3074 and push enter.

5: Daemon Knight Will Greet You With a Read Me Text - Please Read the Content!!!

6: In the main hub tab called "Circle Of Fire" At the bottom in the empty field of the mainchat, type +regme password for exaple: +regme 123

7: Type /fav and hit enter. It will say hub added as Favorite. At the top where the icons are you will see an orange star icon. Click on it and tick the box next to "Circle Of Fire" Once You clicked the Orange Star Icon, Right click on both of the International Hub Names and select remove, deleting them. Right click on the Circle Of Fire Hub, and select Properties, Fill in your Password, u chose when you regged.

YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD FROM THE HUB UNTIL YOU SHARE A MINIMUM OF 40GBS, AND SETTINGS ARE ALL DONE.

8: Once nick is registered (Step 7) and all the other setting are applied, click On
File > Settings > Sharing. Tick the folders you would like to share on the Hub.This will be the same as an Explorer Tree, Select the folder, Once you have ticked it, It will ask you to name the Shared Folder, so eg Iso Files, Music etc. This is how other Users will see your List Directory. The minimum share size is 25GB or more. or more.If you have any issues in this regard Pm any of the Ops.The Names are available on the Team tab above.

9: If you are having difficulty connecting, and there are no staff to assist, change to passive mode.In Apexdc Click on File > Settings > Connection Settings. This will allow you to temporarily connect to active users only.

10: Welcome To The Circle Of Fire, You now are a registered user of the hub, PLS look out for a Pm, From an Ops, which will appear as a tab with their nick on it, below the text input field in mainchat, Click on the Nick tab,,, and read the pm, Pls kindly reply to the pm

Joining and Using the hub, Means that You agree to having read the disclaimer and agree to it's contents.

Any Suggestions / Bugs / Errors Encountered please notify an admin or ops via a pm or in the shoutbox.

I joined the CoF server today. I registered my nick, and I've shared 50 gigs, with 3 upload slots.... but I still can't download or search. Did I miss a step? I've been trying to get ahold of an op for the past few hours, but I haven't received a response yet.

Why when i join hehub.activedns.co.za:3074, does it keep asking me for the password? I cant find the password anywhere?
