Apple’s iOS 8 causing Bluetooth issues

Apple Inc’s new mobile operating system iOS 8 is causing significant issues for some users who connect their phones to cars via Bluetooth

MacRumors had also posted on Monday that a bug in iOS 8’s ‘Reset All Settings’ option could erase iCloud drive documents, citing user reports.

I don't know, it seems like there are a lot of issues with iOS8's rollout. I think they're trying to do too much all at once and frankly they need to slow down and do what they're good at, which is making a relatively small amount of very stable software rather than competing on pure features.

On the other hand, I've had iOS8 running on an iPad2 for almost 2 weeks now without a single issue, and that includes pairing with Bluetooth headphones almost daily. Fortunately missed out on the 8.0.1 update though, thanks to Telkom ADSL line which went AWOL for a few days. But searching for and reporting negatives is the bread and butter of the media I guess, even if it does often make mountains out of molehills.

I'm still on 8 and am having no problems with my 5S.

I thought my headphones are the ones with a problem but seeing this I'm regretting doing the upgrade on my Ipod, of which they no longer allow downgrades if I'm not mistaken

Well, I think they'll iron it all out in a week or so as astroturf said. It's a bumpy launch and everyone's miffed but I'm quite sure they're all panic stations behind the scenes.

iOS 8.1 will reportedly be released on the 20th October along with Apple Pay. Currently running iOS 8.1 beta 1, there should be 1 more beta before release. Bluetooth issues are fixed in iOS 8.1 beta 1

I'm not sure this is entirely new - I'm shopping around for a new car, and asked the dealer about the BMW Connected Drive thing, (this was before iOS8) she asked me if I had an iPhone, and I asked "why?" - and she said "it doesn't work very well with newer iPhones, we don't recommend using them with the car". I did a Google and apparently these problems started with iOS7. Looks like they just broke it more in iOS8

Just proves something I have been saying for a while.Never be a first adapter of anything.Wait a while(2 months maybe )before installing a new operating system, by then all the bugs are ironed out.Same goes for a new model phone ,the first adapters get all the trouble.
