Apple and Intel 10 Gbps optical data technology

FFS, just use USB!

Why the F do you have to go and invent yet another CrApple standard?

Morons. Sad thing is there are enough fanboys that this standard will not die, yet USB is more than enough.

Why. Reinvent. The. Wheel?!?.

/me breathes...

USB is probably the k@kkest standard out there although also the most common.
I truly welcome anything that tries to remove USB from the market.

In the 25 year history of the PC, there have been 2 universally adopted bus standards, RS 232 and USB. Neither was very efficient, but both were reliable, cheap, ubiquitous, and easy to implement. I don't think you'll find a standard to replace either soon, and when it does emerge it won't be optical. BTW I <3 USB.

USB just makes life easier for most people because almost any external device can connect by USB! Now we wait for USB 3.0 (which will probably be cheaper than optics and easier to use) so Apple can go cry in a corner with its "New technology"
