Apple and Samsung battle it out over rectangle shape

The Samsung chief product officer hopes that the industry can move past the current patent issue.
While I agree it isn't going to happen until the patent system is given a sorely needed overhaul. Expecting companies not to take advantage of flawed legislation is wishful thinking.

So this is a major concern between 2 giants ... really???? Don't they have anything better to do?

I've said it another thread: "Apple is going crazy ...". The make big issues of petty things and then spend millions on court cases on these things ... just because they can afford do invest in litigation to no end.

How hard could it be to show prior art for a rectangle and have the patents declared invalid? :p

What, you mean like selling phones?

When your core business is selling tech devices and the result of patent litigation is affecting this (devices getting banned/prohibited in various countries, etc.), I'd imagine it gets promoted to something of a concern?

They should start fighting over circles because the two of them just keep going 'round & 'round....

Well, IMHO Samsung makes a better rectangle than Apple does!

I guess those Europeans had better start digging up all the Roman paving stones seeing as Apple has patented that shape !

Eish a'zombi,
:erm: This is a big problem now. Someone should sue Apple because they didn't invent a rectangle. Whoever came up with a straight line should sue them because a rectangle is made up of for straight lines.
