Apple announces iPhone 4

Again, why do you say that? It's just a good upgrade to a pretty solid phone. I don't think anyone here said it was flawless.

I am so looking forward to getting an iOS4... so much so that I got one last night.... in my dream! :D

rouxinouxinatoror: I know you are really lonely and are looking for conversation, but your comments are getting ...well...LAME. Other peeps: don't know why you bother discussing ANYTHING with this guy/gal...it kindof boggles my mind...

So let me get you straight macboer - you are not happy when I compare computers and phones with apples and you are also not happy when I say apples are flawless in every way.
What exactly is it that makes you happy ? it kindof boggles my mind....

Your clear bias makes any valid points you may have moot. The fact that you continuously troll the mac/iphone/ipad threads spreading your bias makes you annoying.

I think you need to draw some distinction between "continuously troll" and "posting mac/iphone/ipad related news". All of my threads in there have been about news articles relating to mac/iphone/ipad issues. You are clearly biased against anything that is not pro-apple and therefor it is oh so easy for you to say that I am trolling. I think you need think carefully about why every story has two sides and that it really does not add any value to a debate if everyone just praise and worships apple and all its creations.

I fully understand that every story has two sides, but when you only consider one side it makes you unbalanced and bias.
You are clearly not an apple/iphone fan and when you post unbalanced and biased threads to get a response it makes you a troll.
Have a look at your threads, have you ever acknowledged the good points of the iphone? If you have I have never seen it.
Note, I am not saying youre a troll, I find your posts on other subjects entertaining and balanced. Just when to comes to anything apple I basically ignore your posts because I already know what youre going to say.

iOS4 will be available for free download on the 21st of June.

Sure, the stories I re-post and link to might not put apple in a favorable light, but I am guessing that the fans will cover the other ones about how great and amazing Steve Jobs and Apple is towards mankind.
What I am personally has got nothing to do with the articles I share here - their content and the news they cover is what is important. Don't let personal opinion cloud your judgment.

I have acknowledged - more than once - that apple makes great products and their role as being a competitive innovator is very important.
I do state IMHO, that the only reason not to like them is the whole "appletude" that comes along with their devices and fanbois.
So perhaps before you ignore you should try and establish if it is really trolling, or perhaps there is some truth in it.

It is trolling. What "appletude"? Where did we say Steve Jobs and Apple are "amazing towards mankind"?

I can sort of understand why alot of people smirk at features(or lack of) of the iPhone if they havnt got one. I practically had to beg Vodacom for my 3G 2years ago becuase they said it didnt compare to the Samsung Omnia! ha ha. When apple has not got a feature i believe it is for two reasons: They couldnt not get it done reliably and in fitting with there priorities (i.e flash chews up processing power etc) OR they want to hold that feature out for a new release. This is a business decision and may not impress the consumer all the time but Apple is the best marketing machine in the world, they have their reasons!

All i can tell you is that i would not swop my old 3G for anything less than a new iphone. The interface and touch screen are its biggest advantages over other smartphones. I had plenty of other phones and this is the only one you can call & sms on as quick as a good old fashioned firmware based Nokia or Sony etc with buttons. Alot of people bitch about no freedom with software. Apple do this on purpose so that crappy apps dont crash there OS and hardware. Its like a quality garantee. If you want the freedom then Jailbreak and your on your own. I personally havnt seen the reason to do this as the app store is so big, everything is there.

I wish someone would create a survey thread asking the following:

Have you had an iphone and didnt like
Have you got an iphone and love it?
Do you hate the idea of an iphone and will never try it?
I am tempted but the apple haters are putting me off...
I
am prepared to bet there are less than 5% of people who have had an iphone and did not like the experience. All the haters are people who read spec sheets and compare the iphone to other smartphones. You cant do this, its about the experience!!!!!!!

Ah, a fanboy. Listen to yourself. I'm certainly not an Apple hater but I really get miffed with the adoration bordering on worship that abounds whenever Jobs gets up to speak. And yes, you're probably going to enjoy your experience much more than my own phone which costs one-third of yours, with much the same and a few more functions that I appreciate. Give yourself a treat and head over to Game and get yourself a pair of Bluetooth stereo headphones, which when I saw them last week were under R300. Wireless freedom feels good.

i love iphone
can't wait for the iphone 4 to be released in SA
getting it the same second it comes out

Yea i guess I am a fanboy, but the one thing i will say is; I would probably be talking just like you and going on about price, features, bluetooth head phones etc if I never had an iPhone. It very difficult to describe unless you have experienced one. apple products really do get ahold of you. I dont worship at the alter of steve, especially if you look back before the last decade. Not such a nice guy and he made some big mistakes! But products like a pac pro, i mac, iphone etc are game changes when you hold them and experience the interfaces. I still have not seen anyone else put hardware together like that. Couple that with software that is actually designed with the hardware and you have something that other companies dont.

P.S i have to admit: My iPhone is my only Apple product(so far). I will be getting an iPad soon. And then as soon as budget permits an iMac for home and a MacbookPro if the iPad isnt cutting it for on the road. I will not buy a PC again and all because i started with an iPhone.

Its not longer iPhone OS uncle rpm :)

its iOS 4 now ...

I'm waiting to find out how much we're gonna get ripped a new one for this loverly piece of kit in this country... whats a bet about R12k?

Just checking with u okes, but i read somewhere that apple wants a standard price for all cash iphones, was set at $300 i think whish is about R2500.
If this is true then imma pre order me one NOW

That myth has been busted on several occasions.

It is pointless to try and use personal and emotional experiences when recommending tech products, I think the furthest you can go in that direction is corporate ethics.
While apple products might be good for some folks, many people require functions that apple products are either not capable of performing or are deliberately crippled not to perform.

There is an old adage along the lines of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts so without personally experiencing a device you can't possibly appreciate it.

If you had used it, and disliked it, your opinion might have more credibility - instead your rants just seem rather petty at times. :o

amen!

"It is pointless to try and use personal and emotional experiences when recommending tech products, I think the furthest you can go in that direction is corporate ethics. " I'm sure you made a few typos here. You saying its pointless to use personal experience when recommending tech products? uh ok dont believe anything engadget, gizmod, toms hardware etc says then !? And what on earth does corproate ethics have to do with what we are talking about?
