Apple announces new iPad launch date

New iPad with nothing to run on it. If Namco releases a new im@s game or some new Madoka Magicka game comes out on it or SAO and needs the horsepower I'll consider it. But now there's nothing to justify a new device. Namco sometimes ports PS Vita games. Well maybe if more companies did that, I'd buy.

But they don't make out like every model is the second coming do they?
Apple think it's like announcing they discovered god

Not really. It's just that non-Apple fans hate Apple events but have no issues when Google or Samsung have the same type of events and have the exact same style of dog and pony show. Be honest, you know whoever releases something or other has to talk it up like it's the greatest thing ever until the next version. It's not just Apple, it's everyone.

Yeah like Google announced the Nexus 5 in a blog post http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2013/10/android-for-all-and-new-nexus-5.html

Hrm.. I'm just hoping they release the new OSX already and enable the iCloud Drive. (Properly.. It's half enabled presently)

I think post retina iPad and later Air, nothing much has changed in the iPad other than technological upgrades. This new one will finally get the Touch ID which is great.. But yah... Nothing ground breaking. Maybe they will show the bigger rumored ipad?

Or the 12" MacBook Air with Retina display.

This thing is going to be incredible, amazing, smarter and smarter, better and better, revolutionize, easy, useful, great, awesome, beautiful

Sums up everything thats wrong with Apple and their drones

Except for Google IO, the Samsung Event, the Sony Event, LG Event etc where they all launch new hardware/software Apple-style. I must be wrong: those are all blog entries.

No, you're wrong to compare the scale of those events to Apple's.

Of the device makers who launched flagships this year- Sony and Samsung launched their devices at international trade shows (MWC and IFA), while LG hosted a press-only event to launch their device (the G3).

The scale of Apple's event is what people complain about, not it happening.

So Samsung has tiny events for just a handful of people? Maybe i'm wrong but when I watched the live stream of Samsung releasing their smart watch, I could swear that there must have been more that 2 or 3 people there. The fact that it was a live stream meant that it was a small event?

You guys just refuse to accept that your beloved Android OEM's are exactly the same as Apple.

Samsung launched the Gear at IFA 2013. The Gear 2 was launched at MWC 20014 (alongside the S5) and the Gear S and Note 4 launched at IFA 2014. All of those events were trade shows. Did you even read what I initially stated?

It's this sort of ridiculous defensiveness that has people annoyed by the "cult of Mac".

But that's exactly what you are doing?! You can defend as much as you like but it's fine but if anyone else defends their choice, then it's wrong? Sad.

No. Go back and actually read what I've stated, instead of changing tack because your straw man argument has no merit.

What's sad is your continued ignorance of the point made.
