Apple actually launched their selfe service repair programme last year where they send you, the end-user kit, manuals, and parts to fix your own device. At least in North America.I actually don't mind the anti "right to self-repair" stance Apple seemingly takes. Hahaha, I don't want anyone other than Apple to repair my iPhone 13 Pro, should the need ever arise (hopefully not).
From my experiences, a lot of these places that repair handsets do a poor job at it, thus ruining your smartphone. Also, lots of poor-quality 3rd party hardware which also ruins the smartphone.
Not sure what the protocol is here.
