Apple halts new iOS and MacOS feature development to focus on bugs

In a rare move, Apple Inc. hit pause on development of next year’s software updates for the iPhone, iPad, Mac and other devices so that it could root out glitches in the code.

The delay, announced internally to employees last week, was meant to help maintain quality control after a proliferation of bugs in early versions, according to people with knowledge of the decision.

They should focus on :

- Apple Music Hi Res lossless and being able to use the tier
- Sorting photos correctly in Photos - and then have that option pull through when attaching to apps
- Try as much as possible to have the same iOS/tvOS features across different models
- Not launch half-assed 'features' for older devices limited that are limited by software / Tim Cook

@backstreetboy have you seen that iOS 17.1.1 fixed the BMW issue of wireless charging ?

That was very kind of Apple, since it was a BMW issue in the beginning

No it wasn't.
In an internal memo shared with Apple Authorized Service Providers, Apple said charging an iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, or iPhone 15 Pro Max with a "small number" of wireless phone chargers built into certain recent BMW and Toyota Supra models may temporarily disable the NFC capabilities of the device.
