However it wasn't an act of suffering as someone put it.

You forgot the /s tag...Apple will align to what is best for their consumers and in line with legislation. And when they do do it, it will be the best implementation of the technology yet.
Most proper cables has an indicator for the right way up so you can even do it in the dark.Micro USB was terrible lol, who are you trying to fool? Can only go in one way ffs
Works fine for me.micro usb is rubbish.
What is best for their consumers? How much alcohol do you mix in with your iCool-aid?
The ONLY reason they are doing it is the coming EU regulations.
Wait - what ? When has Apple anything done anything the consumer wants ?Apple will align to what is best for their consumers

It's 2022 and they've just upgraded to 15w wireless charging from 7.5w or something.I honestly expected Apple to go portless on iPhone to show their courage before even thinking about USB-C. I guess the EU putting pressure on even a titan like Apple works.

My 2019 Huawei was around 30w and I think the latest are around 50w. When Apple can achieve these speeds (ie when it's cheap enough for them), then they'd do wireless. But at this point, I think the sweet spot is 15w which offers a great balance between cost / technology.
They’re doing hundreds of billions of dollars worth of what consumers want, apparently.Wait - what ? When has Apple anything done anything the consumer wants ?
That's the marketing at play...They’re doing hundreds of billions of dollars worth of what consumers want, apparently.
The majority of people can't afford wireless charged phones, you rich guy. So cables it is.People still use cables?
Start creating high resolution content and you'll see how much quicker it is to transfer files via cable, even USB 2, than airdropping it.People still use cables?

Ok - then there's charging, which is obviously faster via cable, and CarPlay which on most/many cars requires a cable connection.Nah I mean I was just being facetious.
But even that is a 1% use case and probably why it will be on the Pro only.
Which is stupid, it should just go across the range and stop this half half bullshit.
FWIW it would be idiotic for me to even consider uploading video clips that are 1gb per min, to the cloud, so I can edit them locally.I don’t even Airdrop it’s all cloud only.

Cables are still better, and USB-C will be better still.
the iPhone 8 has wireless charging like 5 years ago already. It’s not a new thing.
Wireless is often too slow to charge for most people... and only when you hit 15w or greater does it become something useful.People still use cables?
