Apple has started testing iPhones with USB-C ports

“...by slowing down the introduction of beneficial innovations in charging standards, including those related to safety and energy efficiency,” the company said last year."
IE we will be the absolute last to introduce any improvements we can't charge for

And surely as a pro there are still better devices fit for purpose of your use case?
I don't have to do much video so I make do with what I've got at hand when I need to do it. Usually it's dslrs but last week I had to shoot a bunch of clips while I was on holiday in UK and used a couple cellphones because that's what I had.

Nobody (but you) cares how long it charges.

What tottled nonsense is this
20min fast charge while you hit the shower and done for the day

Inefficient POS tech like wireless charging didn't get popular for a reason

So the Europeans won. the EU has long demanded either they change to USB-C or they loose the ability to sell phones in Europe. The idea that common chargers would reduce wastage, and simplify everything.

I think everyone but Apple won this round.

As am I. It was only the replacement of the MagSafe on the laptops with USB-C that truly sucked. There's no downside I can see for myself with them finally junking the lightning connector.

If they'd kept the lightning port but given us USB-C speeds I'd also have been ok with that.

I'd be really annoyed if charging my phone required me to connect it overnight.
Why? You are sleeping anyway.

You put it down to charge, sleep, wake up...take it with you and go on with your life.

It's a complete non-event.

I think it would be great if they pushed themselves a bit though .

Why zoom?
Why a faster processer ?
Why 5w to 10w charger ?
Wy IP67 to IP68 resistance ?
Why a better camera ?
