@mixit_fan; any way to stop the screen to pan past the edge of the WEB page? It's a bit irritating if you pan and you pan straight past the edge and end up with a grey screen...

hmm...

if you open the settings menu, and close it the page no longer continues sliding after you let the screen go...

quite a few people have been having this problem...im not aware of a fix. AFAIK the program is not in development anymore..

ps .. Ivan .. the iPhone is quite usable in direct sunlight.

Well the updated 1.1.1 unlock is available online. So, you should be fine for the time being...
 
There is no real difference between the different firmware versions. Been using my iphone for over a month, and have switched firmware versions - no differences.

Very cool phone.
 
Where is the best place to get an iPhone?

There are numerous adverts on BidorBuy ranging from R5100 to R8000 unlocked, and I know have2have sells - but they are locked. I found this guy on Gumtree Johannesburg, who claims to sell them at R3100 but I've emailed him twice now and he doesn't respond or answer. If he's not a fraudster, then it's a bargain!

you do know there are KNOCK-OFF versions of the iPhone floating around.
 
Iphone does have Bluetooth, Touch does not.
Anyone know where to get these for under 4k? I find anything above that extortionate

You see the thing is, the people getting it here are buying from At&t because apple is only supplying them, so $399 * 7 (rough) = 2800. Add to that 20% Customs Duty and 14% VAT so thats R3192 Inc Vat + 560 Customs = R3752, then we need to add a little something for shipping costs say R300 which takes us to a little over 4k. Then the phone still needs to be unlocked, which is R500 for the software - that makes it 4.5k and whoever is selling it wants some profit.

There was a seller on Bidorbuy who started an auction for 2 iPhones at R5150 - he closed the auction with a bid for R5600 and a bid for R5500 I think. I think as long as I pay under 6k, I'll be happy with it.

Have2have is still selling it for R4900, locked but they dont have stock for the next 3 weeks or something...So they wouldn't reduce their price while demand is still strong.

I am trying to organise one coming in next week - the seller wants to charge me R6000 but I'll negotiate.

I just have a funny feeling about it, so I'm walking away. :rolleyes:

I know it might be silly, but my instincts have saved my ass before...so leaving it there. If you phone, let me know what the outcome is.
 
Oh...hehe I was looking at the other one which is like 35GBP! So I guess, you can use the free one too! :D
