And external design of the iPhone 8 catered for Touch ID. It was probably cheaper for them.

But in the interest of small bezels - they’ve removed Touch ID until they can implement again.

There were just too many facts coming out all at once ... and that section of the forum just wasn't ready. They needed to do immediate damage control

So when I’m saying there has been no Touch ID on iPhones for years, I’m talking about newly released iPhones.

You’re trying (again) to prove me wrong by saying the iPhone SE has … but that’s an ‘old’ design phone pre-Face

Does it make sense or should I dumb it down further?

In other words, the boardroom talk was this :

'Guys, we're losing the thin bevel design race ... and we need to try achieve the golden front-is-all-glass look. That means that Touch ID and the home button needs to go - but we'll implement something else called Face ID. What we'll do is tell the fans that Face ID is much better and they'll just follow without asking and write off Touch ID as rubbish.

Later on, we'll bing Touch ID back either under glass or even in a button. We'll just tell the fans that this is a better, faster version - and they'll be happy again. We can tell thm when perfected it.

But as we still sell the iPhone SE based on the iPhone 8 with a home button, we fon't nee to change that at all. As long as we've alreasdy paid off the tooling at the factory, we can keep producting these based on old designs'

You can’t use an exception to prove a rule? The answer is new iPhones don’t have Touch ID

… with a disclaimer that there is one based on an model that does. Read Tim’s chat in the boardroom above. He spells it out for you

It’s a 2022 phone you can buy brand new right now.

It’s intentionally kept to service the TouchID crowd.

@SauRoNZA It's an OLD external design with the OLD home button based on a OLD pre-face ID phone.
 
@SauRoNZA Love the poll btw .. I know you excluded all the other polls because they weren't giving the results you wanted -but don't you think creating it where do you have is a bit like create a 'Mercedes vs BMW' poll here https://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/forums/ ?

I mean the results might make you feel fuzzy ... but are they accurate ?

So your polls are accurate because the results "prove" your point but his poll is false because the results are against your opinions?

Nope, it’s in exactly the right place so people who have actually used the tech can vote and not every random on the internet.
