Apple iPhone 16 range unveiled

Yes, I know it's a shitpost, but so much of it is true. Apple could be so much better, but it's not.
Pff... 2021.

I'm pretty sure I could find a Nokia Symbian^2 or Symbian^3 device from like 2010 with a dedicated camera button.

No fancy taptic engine slidey controls, though.

(Before the hate brigade gets the wrong idea: I'm a very happy Apple customer and may even upgrade to an iPhone 16 Pro. Shitposting is just fun.)

Upgrading from a 15 to 16?

If so, then we disregard everything you say because you are a def fanBoi.

This is the Internet discourse I know and love.

Make assumption. Make argument based on assumption. Draw conclusion based on argument based on assumption. Make up mind about person's character irrevocably based on conclusion.

I'm on an iPhone 13.

Sorry if that's how it came across.

There's a question mark there which I hoped would imply that I am asking, not assuming.

The next sentence starts with "if so ..."

Not a big deal, but I wanted to make the point that it basically forces the other party into a position where they have to respond, or the assumption stands.

It's a "When did you stop beating your wife?" type question.

Weak: try a real camera phone.

Don't you get free Samsung, Huawei when they give you review units? I know Apple don't but you could convince Core to give you one in return for a review of the phone and Core themselves?

Would be a massive breach of ethics if he did that.

If Core or Apple wanted to advertise, they need to pay THICC MEDIA for a review and it would get put in the industry news tab under partner content.

I am glad Jan buys his own tech.

I made the mistake of comparing iPhones to my current MacBook Pro :crying:

I feel like an android user again.

That shouldn't be surprising in the slightest though. That's a 7 year old chip, predating Apple Silicon.

I just checked and the M1 Pro gets 3806 in single thread and 21867 in multi-thread with CPU Mark. That's a more interesting comparison imo. The A18 Pro is a good step up from the A17 Pro, so it's incredibly impressive how performant the A-series has become.

My M1 Pro MBP is still stupidly fast and still has amazing battery life, so I also wonder if upgrade cycles aren't getting longer and longer. It could be quite a few more years before I upgrade.

I made the mistake of comparing my iPhone to an Android performance wise … expecting the iPhone to be on top.

But it couldn’t beat an old Android :(

So I hear this thing can do 25w charging? Is that true?

What about the laws of physics, heat and battery degradation? That’s always been the excuse of why Apple never implemented

It isn't surprising, it is just sad and a little insane about how good Apple have become at CPU design.
