Mmmmm, not convinced you got a valid point there meneer. It's significantly thinner and lighter than the 4s with a screen aspect ration of 16:9. If anything, ergonomically, it's superior to the 4s.

Funny enough, the S3 has the same argument in comparison to the S2.

I don't find the S3 to be that bad ergonomically. S2 was always a bit uncomely to hold and use properly in one hand. But I'm just not buying the whole bigger screen thing in general. I agree with BeVonk here there's a line where it stops being a true phone and melds into something else, and I don't feel I NEED whatever that something else is because I have a tablet for that.
 
What's the sweet spot? 4.3 for me, anything bigger becomes impractical. Where will manufacturers stop though? The next note is how big? 5.3"?

4" is the sweet spot for me. Always has been, always will be. Screen size is a misleading evolutionary diversion.

Agreed, even though I have never had an issue using the S2 (felt it was a lot better ergonomically than the original SGS). I skipped on the Note because I did not want a niche device (despite how magnificent it is). But it is this lack of "need" as you put it, that makes me believe that Apple will never create an iPad mini- it would mean that they are conforming to tech reviewer populism.

I meant of the iPod touch re quality. But I googled the SanDisk device- quite impressive... If only it was as well marketed as the iPod.

The bigger size makes it awkward to use, and the increased screen size will make it awkward to use
