Apple iPhone 5 unveiled

Samsung copy not win.
I have an SII and Iphone 4 and will take an iPhone anyday over buggy Android.
And All iOS devices getting IOS 6 from launch date.
How is Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean on your network supported device. Oh wait, it isn't
And what kinds of names is ICS and JB anyway. Something named after toys to get kids excited.

Wow, you type strange.

Toys? Please source.

So now I kinda understand what Nokia`s strategy was, they knew that they weren't going to be able to ship the Lumia 920 before the iPhone 5 was launched because of Microsoft but rather chose to launch the device beforehand so that people might think twice about buying the new iPhone. Now looking at the comments on the American tech blogs after this announcement it might actually be working, but this phone will still sell in the millions as the average joe will still be thinking "hey, I'm cool I got the latest iPhone".

The funniest part was where they announced the new "lightning" connector. Forcing you to use an adaptor for all legacy devices from now on, no pricing, nothing, aaaand... the crowd goes wild. Yeah, how f***ing revolutionary.

No dude, lightning is bad for your electronics.

They're actually all named after desserts. But I suppose it's too much to expect an iSheep to make the connection.

I really thought the iPhone 5 would be as thin as the Galaxy S3, im really disappointed. Has Apple baked in Bluetooth file transferring?

I would still get a Samsung Galaxy S3 over the iPhone 5.

It is a millimetre thinner. 7,6 vs 8,6 mm but nice try.

It is also lighter, has a higher PPI display. The only place I see the S3 beating it is that it has NFC. But there isn't much use for NFC yet in SA so for me that is a non issue. Looking at GSM Arena something seems off with the battery stats for the S3 though. Does it really have the iPhones standbye time more in 3G vs its own in 2G? (It says 590 (2G) 790 hours (3G)) and over 11 hours of talk time? That doesn't seem right, my uncle had an S3 and it didn't last him a full day.

Nokia have the best, most innovative phone this year with the 920. Innovative screen, camera, os and design. Apple have spent too much time in the courts and not enough time in the lab. Thr S3 is also nice and will sell billions, but the 920 will still be the most innovative. Can't wait for its release

Boring deluxe. Was really expecting something a little more inspired than this.

Maybe they should've rather dubbed this the "iPhone 4Ss"

I didn't realize that Apple's design and development teams were also lawyers. Gotta hand it to them though, they're multi-talented.

Agree about the Nokia Lum 920

Looks like design and innovation at Apple died with Steve Jobs.

Lumia 920 for me then. Will be my first Nokia in 10 years. Very much looking forward to it. ;)

HOW DARE YOU!? TRAITOR!!!!!

/fetches pitchfork and petrol for my torch!

Hahaha....I'll still keep my Galaxy S2, but always want to explore. ;)

Windows Phone 7 wasn't ready for prime time, but Windows Phone 8 is looking good. And the Surface tablets.....see where I'm going?

Last, but not least, Nokia's Maps + CityLens is not to be sniffed at.

I think it's brillopads myself, loved the whole event. Highlights:

1) New iPhone case design looks absolutely primo - first class hardware design through and through.
2) Sensors on the touchscreen itself, that thing will be ultra-sensitive. Pro typing.
3) New earphones are super classy - finally decent Apple buds.
4) You see the graphics that thing can push out? It's 100% console quality. iPhone5_rearviewmirror_610.jpg
5) A6 looks to be Cortex A15 based or I'm mistaken? Will destroy benchmarks. See above screenshot if you aren't convinced :p
6) Flyovers with fully texture mapped 3d buildings look very classy.
7) Proper LTE with decent battery life could be a first
8) Images on that camera look like setting a very high standard - interested to see how it compares to Lumia 920 in low light.
9) I flipped out with the new iPod Touch. The colours and the 4' screen. He reckons it's the world's top selling videogame device - maybe he's right. Makes me wonder why nobody else has even made a decent effort to break into this market with an equivalent Android device - Samsung should be shot for their attempt.
