Apple iPhone 5 unveiled

They're actually all named after desserts. But I suppose it's too much to expect an iSheep to make the connection.

Desserts taken of the kids menu, what's next coco the clown?
And no not a sheep. Just a solid phone that just works

I think it's brillopads myself, loved the whole event. Highlights:

1) New iPhone case design looks absolutely primo - first class hardware design through and through.
2) Sensors on the touchscreen itself, that thing will be ultra-sensitive. Pro typing.
3) New earphones are super classy - finally decent Apple buds.
4) You see the graphics that thing can push out? It's 100% console quality. View attachment 17653
5) A6 looks to be Cortex A15 based or I'm mistaken? Will destroy benchmarks. See above screenshot if you aren't convinced :p
6) Flyovers with fully texture mapped 3d buildings look very classy.
7) Proper LTE with decent battery life could be a first
8) Images on that camera look like setting a very high standard - interested to see how it compares to Lumia 920 in low light.
9) I flipped out with the new iPod Touch. The colours and the 4' screen. He reckons it's the world's top selling videogame device - maybe he's right. Makes me wonder why nobody else has even made a decent effort to break into this market with an equivalent Android device - Samsung should be shot for their attempt.
10) Sending messages directly in notifications is class.

Your point number 10 there .... Android released the ability to do that with Jellybean, plus a bunch of other cool stuff in the notification bar:

Google names their OS's after desserts - They're sweet, appealing to look at. And generally, the kids menu is the best menu to look at by far (Ever been to Spur or Milkylane :P )

Apple names their OS's after cats - beautiful looking creatures, yes ... but also VERY temperamental.
In any case, as far as I know ... iOS has used the same name since day 1 (or at least a very similar name) with only the number changing ... how innovative and creative ... :p

They've actually come to a tricky point with the cat nomenclature thing

Looks like a IP5 but is way more advanced than the IP5. This i will buy if it was available in SA. 1080p with a 441 PPI screen and a quad core Krait. It will probably be cheaper than a IP5 as well. Now that's cool.

Notice the price of the Xiaomi phone. I am slowly but surely getting tempted to actually get one of these. There is a website where you can preorder it. Cost is $400.00

WOW Mind blowing innovations, gonna rush and buy an iFLOP 5 immediately.

Bleh despite features the iPhone 5 is a looker that anodized aluminum , and the panorama feature that's "whip" ,i prefer the responsiveness of IOS but i hate that apple makes you jump threw loops metaphorically , i have the Samsung galaxy s 2 and these stupid Samsung apps are constantly running in the background "bloatware" don't get me started on touch wiz , i came from Symbian which had the apps i needed and was pretty smooth then . i would consider the iPhone 5 if i didn't need iTunes to load any content at all , IOS would be a whole lot better if it was "plug and play" like android.

Yeah...so should the Iphone 5 ... but whatcha gonna do *shrug*

With those specs it is still damn cheap. Besides...I think it is only if you are inside China that you going to be getting it for such a low price.

As you like. Personally think the things they did put in there are exactly what people want and can provide practical value: improved touchscreen, LTE, much better camera, larger screen that's still able to be used with one hand, console quality graphics, untouchable build quality, better earphones... it's an absolute wishlist of 'how could they improve the iPhone'. And cutting out the fluff which sounds nice but doesn't have much real world value, like for instance NFC.
