Apple iPhone 5 unveiled

Yeah...so should the Iphone 5 ... but whatcha gonna do *shrug*

Rawr!! Handbags at dawn.

With those specs it is still damn cheap. Besides...I think it is only if you are inside China that you going to be getting it for such a low price.
It's $90 on top of the asking price. For $400 you can get a 2ndhand Google Nexus, even an SGS3 with a little bit o'bloomin luck.

Hahaha....I'll still keep my Galaxy S2, but always want to explore. ;)

Windows Phone 7 wasn't ready for prime time, but Windows Phone 8 is looking good. And the Surface tablets.....see where I'm going?

Last, but not least, Nokia's Maps + CityLens is not to be sniffed at.

I have to agree with you here. Im going to keep my Galaxy Note, but Im definately jumping into a Windows 8 phone and tab.

Desserts taken of the kids menu, what's next coco the clown?
And no not a sheep. Just a solid phone that just works
Wow really grasping at straws when the only thing you can find to criticise is the name, and not a very good dig at the names anyway. But after that disappointment tonight I can see why you're frustrated

Its a good looking phone, apart from the aesthetics its doesn't impress too much.

As you like. Personally think the things they did put in there are exactly what people want and can provide practical value: improved touchscreen, LTE, much better camera, larger screen that's still able to be used with one hand, console quality graphics, untouchable build quality, better earphones... it's an absolute wishlist of 'how could they improve the iPhone'. And cutting out the fluff which sounds nice but doesn't have much real world value, like for instance NFC.
NFC has lots of potential, especially for Apple products. But it seems they are happy to take the backseat, let the android manufacturers debut the new technologies and only incorporate it into apple products when they have no choice but to do it.

Is it only me or is the new iPod Nano really ugly? Doesn't look like an Apple product at all... Pretty sure Steve Jobs is rolling over in his grave regarding the round icons.

iPhone's look I like - especially the black. Pity about the lack of really great new software features. The rest? Meh...

My feeling is that it's a bit of a slow burner. It's so similar to the iPhone 4 design concept that it's hard to see immediately what an improvement it actually is. But after all what else should impress you? The speed? Look at the screenshots of its graphics, and the video demo of the flyovers. That thing absolutely blazes. The screen? It's got touchscreen sensors on the friggin glass now - will be the most sensitive screen in the world. It's not as big as a lot of current gen Android phones, but screen size is an evolutionary dead-end - they've already gone full circle. Eventually you have to figure out what size you actually want to use, and I've said for a long while that for me it's right around the 4' mark. My SGS is perfection in the hand.

Disappointing if you already own a 4S or an Android phone. But if you have a Blackberry 9700 like me, it's amazing. Heck a pile of poop is amazing compared to a 9700.

I'll probably get an iPhone 5 when I move to the USA in March.

I've no doubt that it does. But it's also probable that they wouldn't release it without being able to debut a fully fledged selling point to go with it - unlike the majority of cases in Android where it's shoved in and then hoped that someone else figures out how to use it.

So when is the iPhone 5S going to be announced? The iPhone 5 is so 2012....:p

Best deal in town now must be a 2nd hand iPhone 4. Mine is still brilliant.

What is this A6 chip?

Cores? Speed?

There is NO indication of that. Best guess is dual core, probably Arm cortex a15 based. There's a video of it on Anandtech, it looks very bloody fast.
