Apple releases emergency security update for Macs and iPhones

Apple has released an emergency security patch to address two zero-day vulnerabilities previously exploited to hack Macs and iPhones, Bleeping Computer reported.

The Cupertino-based tech company released MacOS Monterey 12.5.1 and iOS 15.6.1 on Wednesday, 17 August 2022, to fix the vulnerabilities.

What is the point of necroing old threads with this? Doesn't even fit the topic and it was already posted in Broadband news section multiple times now
Point me to the main Apple Thread.

If you can't find a suitable thread you start one, you don't add it to a thread about a different topic.

That's a previous Zero Day, the posting I made was a new zero day posted on 1 September.

You violated rule number 1 of the Apple subforum. Anything negative cannot be posted unless it's in its own thread so that it can easily be contained/drowned out as being "insignificant and/or of no conseqnece" by the raging horde.

Oh, come on, Norrad, necroing a thread about tips and tricks for an article about a security update makes sense to you?

Old threads are necro'd all the time. Also, it does make sense as it's an update for older models that would have been the devices being used when this thread was started, so it is still relevant as a tip. It's the only reason I saw the thread as I subscribed when I was still on an iPhone 6 which is one of the affected models.

In that case there is an iOS 12 thread...
