A security update has been released that fixes 38 security vulnerabilities. Also included is a fix for Quicktime that addresses six vulnerabilities which could allow for remote code execution by way of specially crafted image and video files.

Sounds a lot like the standard Windows Update, no?

This one is for Apples OSX. Run the software update tool or download it from the Apple support site at http://support.apple.com/downloads

LIES! ALL LIES!
apple IS INVULNERABLE! This is not apple's security problem, it's mankind's warped, security-breaking-seeking-mind that's the problem! As mentioned before, apple is FLAWLESS and the BEST...and, and...will be so FOR EVER and ever and ever.
In steve's name, Amen. :p

What the OP's source fails to mention is this security update is for Snow Leopard, iow the previous version of OsX. The most recent security update for Lion was incorporated into 10.7.3.

They sure waited for those to accumulate...
The more OSX gets into the limelight the greater the risk -- this trend like with Windows will increase... Not a bad thing imo though... Thankfully so far CPU munching AV solutions are still not obligatory...
