Apple Music

Hi Guys,

My 3 free months of apple music is coming to an end which i sign up with my US iTunes account and the US version of this service is $10 a month compared to the SA R80, so the SA is much cheaper. does anyone know if there is any benefit with staying with the US one? and can i have a seperate apple music account compared to itunes account? i dont want to lose my US itunes account just for apple music?

thanks,
Max

I noticed the US store has the full package and SA was missing some albums but SA is cheaper so not really worth it staying with US. my 5c

I came across the Indian iStore and see they only pay R26pm for Apple music.

I'm having issues on Windows 10. Everything else streams perfectly fine.

iTunes will randomly stop playing. Annoying as hell.

Month late I know - but the ONLY workaround I've found for this is to just make them available offline.

Good. Only reasonable of Apple to charge a representative fee in different parts of the world.

[... now if only hardware prices could follow suit ...]

Cheaper hardware would definitely be nice.

I read the Chinese store is even cheaper, songs on the Indian store are around 15 rupees (R3)

Is that R3 for all music or just local?

Seems its most, some are even cheaper at 12 rupees.

Seems even the latest items like Adele latest album 120 rupees or 15 rupees per song, R25 for the album.

You can use different Apple ID's. Go sign into iCloud with your South African Apple ID and this will allow you to pay the South African prices, then sign into App Store with your US account

Apple music doesn't work that way. Because Apple Music uses iCloud Music Library your your store account has to be the same as your iCloud account.

So I can stream YouTube and other services just fine - no buffering. Apple music can't even buffer a song without pausing every second as of today. :(

Apple music is still terribly slow to start playing songs - even on fast DSL or LTE connections.

Recently signed up for a 3 month Spotify special and my word it's like night and day. Super fast and instant streaming even in HQ quality.

Apple have a lot of work still to do.

Apple Music And iTunes To Reportedly Get Hi-Res Audio Streaming In 2016

Cupertino-based Apple isn’t necessarily a company that you would immediately expect to be part of discussions at the Portable Audio Festival in Tokyo, Japan, but that appears to be the case. A number of industry sources apparently revealed information which has reignited historical rumors around the potential for Apple to launch new higher-quality audio streaming that would directly benefit subscribers to its Apple Music service as well as those purchasing content through iTunes.

The current speculation surrounding the possibilities of Apple creating its own higher-quality streaming specification has emerged thanks to a number of industry insiders taking part in discussions during the Portable Audio Festival. The source making the claims states that a number of those companies exhibiting at the annual audio festival in Tokyo have knowledge of Apple’s plans to develop and release a Hi-Res audio streaming protocol that supports up to 96kHz/24bit. Additionally, it’s claimed that Apple has plans to kick it into gear by as early as 2016.

So after a year I cancelled my subscription of Apple Music in favour of Google Play Music.

Google offers far better curated playlists, less repetition of the same artists and same songs all the time, and a lot more music to choose from (Google Play music's 35 million tracks vs Apple Music's 30 million). Also you don't need to use that stupid buggy Apple Music app and iTunes.

Google Play only costs R59 pm, whereas Apple Music costs R89 pm.

Good riddance.
