Apple NFC support for iOS may be coming

Apple has released documentation for iOS 11 that suggests it will open Near Field Communications (NFC) functionality in iPhones to developers, the IBM DeveloperWorks blog reported.

iPhone 7/7+ only, and only as a read only NFC device.
Apps have to be open and listening for the event, so the functionality is quite limited at the moment.

In the next step all Apple devices without NFC will be prevented from accessing Appstore.
