Apple Notes sync driving me nuts

I've previously had the issue of Apple Notes not syncing between devices that sorted itself out eventually. But I'm honestly getting seriously pissed off with this latest event. For more than a week now my notes fail to sync to my iPad. I've tried all the restart, iCloud log out log in sequence, create a new note on the iPad hoping it jolts the damn app into syncing "solutions". Nothing works.

It's just crazy that a company like Apple can wipe their asses on an issue like this that has been ongoing for how many years and across how many OS variations. Notes is a great app that integrates into the ecosystem so well. One would think old Timmie would get his ass off the presentation stage and sort it out.

It would drive me mad if I was experiencing the same thing, fortunately I'm not.

Be thankful for small mercies.
I did have some difficulties copy/pasting between devices earlier in the week but I could use notes as a universal clipboard.

Everything else is as smooth as butter, just this damn Notes issue. And it's an app I use fairly extensively on a daily basis. Very annoying. I've tried a few other alternatives but none integrate as well as the native Notes.

I presume you tried most of these tips?

Ja, I read that discussion and tried all those suggestions. I've cleared out the larger embedded PDFs. Also deleted the Recently Deleted folder and a number of older unused notes. Still no joy.

Earlier today I was missing 9 notes. Logged out of iCloud Notes and then logged back in. Now I'm short 139 notes.

Argggghhh

Eish, that is a bummer but feck me you have a ton of Notes lol

Is there not a better collab tool to use the considering the sheer volume here

You reckon 139 is a ton?

That’s a drop in the ocean I reckon. Notes is awesome can’t imagine using anything else.

Only reason I ever used OneNote was because I was forced onto Windows at the time.

Deleted and reloaded it last night. Our Wi-Fi is down this morning so I'll see what transpires when it is back online again.

That break in comms may just be a good thing.

Also did you end up installing AdGuard DNS on your local network or a PiHole ? There could be something there blocking it if you setup some third party lists, so worth turning that off and seeing what happens, or pointing to another DNS service.

Notes is such a useful app, I have 342 notes there. It, along with Reminders, has almost totally replaced my pocketbook and pencil in the veld. I've trialed a few others without much joy. I was a longtime Evernote user but their subscription model made me reconsider. I still have a ton of notes there.

I did install Adguard yes. I'm puzzled though that all other devices and my Mac are synced but not this new iPad. Your suggestions are very welcome, there must be something I'm missing.

Yeah I specifically mean AdGuard DNS not just the app on the device, that won’t be a problem.

But still might be a good idea to put it on a “clean” connection like syncing while connecting to your iPhone’s Hotspot.

I’ve not specifically had issues with Notes and AdGuard, but I have had it cause problems with Activation and some other stuff in the past hence why I thought it may be worth a mention since the other thread. iPad version could just be working via a different CDN or something and getting blocked, which would explain why it somewhat works.

Same, between Notes and Reminders my life would be broken without it. I have over a decade’s worth of days in each.

I constantly talk to Siri to set Reminders and anything I do all day goes into Notes.

If I’m doing work stuff like meetings or interviews I take notes as I go.

If I find a recipe in Safari I push it to my Recipes Notebook to find later.

All other recipes and things I edit and change in Notes as well.

PDF’s and stuff I scan to it. Everything gets tagged as I go.

The only thing that hasn’t lived up to expectation is the Apple Pencil and handwriting recognition because I’m a leftie. But I plan to get the Paperlike screen protector still. Regardless it doesn’t work quite like I expected or as easily as punted.
