Apple overtakes Microsoft as largest tech company

It is well deserved
.
Apple have been doing better and better over the last 10 years (and certainly the last 5, when I got my first Mac).
But this is also largely due to Microsofts massive fall in share price over the last 10 years. They seem to have lost their focus over the same period of time

Hoard the cash! Overcharge the customers in non-US locations. LOL. Shows that fanboys will buy junk.
BTW normal Mac computers excluded - they're pretty good - but they're not responsible for this cap.

Apple have also overtaken MS as the most grotesque tech company (not that MS was ever close to as bad as Apple is now)

I'll be honest. The only "junk" I see is Apple producing are the big box computers like the MacPro for which Apple charges a premium on what are essentially generic off the shelf components. All the other devices Apple produces are, in one way or another, unique.
 
Let me know when they overtake Microsoft in the Desktop Operating System Market. :D

I suspect Bill Gates and ol' Ballmer made a deal similar to the one between Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.
 
Are there really that many lemmings in the world...? :erm: I know Fruits do some things better (or just more simply?) than other products, and if that's what you need then fine, but I wonder how much of their bottom-line comes from this way of thinking:

I think these apple shares are overpriced. With android making inroads (number of android phones in the wild to pass iphones in 2013?), the ipad to be shown up as the massive failure it is (come now, no usb ports?!?!), investors will soon be selling shares if they don't keep the iphone competitive (damn near improbable with the rate at which android is evolving, unless they ramp up updates that is). Plus the anti-apple crusade is gaining ground with all the stunts Apple's pulling off these days. Over the next couple of years MS and Apple going to be sharing this title as "the largest tech company" until perhaps Google wrestles it away.

That being said, Apple is known for pulling rabbits out of hats. Wouldn't be surprised if i'm proved wrong altho this ease-of-use and coolness factor they claim is milked to death imo. Apple produces good products, but their marketing is their main strength. Kinda sad if you think about it
