Apple removes Epic's developer account

Apple Inc. has stopped Epic Games Inc. from opening its own app store for iPhone customers in Europe, a move the Fortnite maker says is a response to its criticism of the tech behemoth and a breach of sweeping new antitrust rules in the region.

Apple terminated Epic’s development account, preventing the gaming company from bringing Fortnite and the Epic Games Store to Apple’s iOS devices in the EU, the software company said in a statement Wednesday.

In before Apple is more secure because people can't sideload.
 
On one hand, Apple is playing with fire and will just upset the EU more, on the other hand, Epic is an awful company and Timmy has gone out of his way to break the very TOS he signed with them and even attempted to sue them before. I don't see why they should trust Epic at all.

In Epic's favour though these ARE issues many have complained about. It isn't just Epic trying to break TOS they didn't really have a choice in signing.

Whaaa? No one forced them to sign anything...they did not have to release their stuff on iOS. And there's nothing from stopping Timmy and his merry band of sour billionaires to create their own phone and do with it what they want. Besides, US courts ruled in Apple's favour regarding TOS agreements, you simply can't just sign it, willingly break it, and then play injured bird like Timmy does.
 
Epic, Spotify, Netflix, X, Tesla, YouTube, SpaceX … who actually gets on with Apple?

Yeah, being part of the Mafiosa appeals to certain people. You do as we tell you to do, or we make your knees a little less, healthy than they currently are. Just pay your protection fee.

I have been called a M$ fanboi, despite never buying anything from them, I do work with their products. However, I feel the 2001 antitrust case was justified and had the outcome was good.

But if you consider one of the arguments there was that M$ bundled IE as the default browser on their OS - what about apple? They bundle their freakin OS as the only one for their computers and lock you in to all their other offerings. Heck, on their phones you can't run any browser but theirs.

Considering the practises M$ got fingered for in 2001, what apple is up to - and has been for some time - it is absurd.
 
Poor sheep first needs Tim's permission before they can do anything. Can't even use your microphone or camera before asking uncle Tim for permission. Baa baa baa all the Apple sheepies sing together. Baa baa baa ucle Tim, please tell us what we allowed to play.

You just jealous because you couldn't wear an Apple Vision Pro for a week before realising how dumb it is.

I buy my iPhones of Carbonite then then its honest business.
