Apple store updating...

LOL, we got a bunch of guys together to watch a live blog..

Nice, $199 for a 8 GB iPhone
Edit: Max price.

Max Price around the world means Vodacom wont be able to charge more than R 2000 for the 8 GB phone in SA, Steve said so

By my calculations closer to r1500. :D

If around R2000 for a iphone, then Nokia/Htc/Samsung can all go and die......But I doubt we will pay anything less than R4000-5000 for the cheapest model here. If this is the case, will still consider to ask friends to get it overseas.

hope it's a quick lunch:)

We are not part of the initial 22 countries...so suppose we'll have to wait a few months. But I am getting one for sure.

The max $199 price is actually a brilliant idea it ensures there is less incentive to hack the phones.

:( And now we need to sign a 10 year contract with vodacom, pay R1000 a month and get the new 3G IPHONE with a extra R2000 cash payin......

I am really excited about the new 3G iphone, but I just hope our mobile service provider will not spoil the fun for us.

the cool thing is. even if the local guys nail us, we can always just get a unlocked one from overseas. $199 is incredibly cheap.

U cant even get a decent gps for that. If you consider 1500 gets u a ipod mini, it makes it even more incredible.
