Oh, so it's OK for Samsung to prevent Apple from using something they have patented? Biased much?

Wow, another Apple hater!
Apple sued Samsung because they are the biggest manufacturer of Android phones. Win against the biggest, and the smaller companies will roll over very quickly. Despite all the patent talk, what Apple are really objecting to was Samsung blatantly copying the iPhone design back in 2007, and marketing their phones as iPhone alternatives through the carriers in the US that didn't have the original iPhone.
Wow another iSheep!!
This has been debated to death, and the fact is that the Andriod phones are not clones of the iphone. The only reason a fraction of the population believe it is, is due to apple telling them it is. I invite you to have a look at the underwhelming support apple has in the world. As example have a look at a non technical site that has likes/dislike features in its forum

Those are FRAND patents, and Apple are obliged to pay royalties.
They have refused to do so, and IMO all iPhone 5 shipments should be indicted.
I think you have the story backwards: Apple approached Samsung with a proposal for a licensing fee, but Samsung declined that offer, which could result in another case of intentionally trying to hamper competition!
Come on, SJ had fights with everyone, even his own management and board. He was even fired from his own company at one stage because he was such an unpleasant character. Go and read it up.
You need rose-tinted glasses to believe some of the shyte that gets published.
Maybe, and no different to Apples theft of the name of the Beatles' music company. Fortunately they ended up paying USD500 million for that breach of contract / theft, which was a lot of money in those days.
Apple have never been angels - and they were quite available for idea theft, SJ even admitted that.
So now all of a sudden you admit that Android did rip off the iPhone?
Nope. Just saying that Apple has never been an ethical company.

SJ had fights with everyone and was generally an unpleasant and arrogant and tantrumy fellow. No argument here. He was also a genius, but that's aside the asides. It still doesn't change anything about this history, and I remember it all unfolding. Google and Apple were in bed together at one point, and Google was 'noncompetitive' with Apple in a direct sense. That all changed right about the time they bought Android and then totally redid the UI to resemble the iPhone. Them's the facts.
But would you describe Google's actions as honest and transparent? Would you say that Android was not the result of their intimate relationship with Apple, and their uniquely privileged insight into the iPhone's development? So, history then reflects that others could also do some Jobs "magic" ... he got some of his own medicine and then wanted to go thermonuclear ... "How can anyone dare copy my behaviour and tactics?!"
They paid X amount for the trademark rights but, since the terms of the agreement have never been disclosed, the amount they paid is anyone's guess.Maybe, and no different to Apples theft of the name of the Beatles' music company. Andy Ruben = Android ... which happened before Google bought it. Android's birth happened outside of Google. Apple could have bought Android before anyone got their hands on it to prevent the current situation ... but history now states that Google saw the power of Android and bought it first.
