Apple announced on Monday that its next-generation Snow Leopard operating system tailored for the California company's Macintosh computers will be unleashed on the market on Friday.

The prices as advertised are already considerably higher in Europe ($40+ iirc) than the US . . . but I'm still picking up a family copy after the weekend if its available there.

I just got a mate of mine in the UK to ship it over - apparently he'll get it on the weekend. 25 quid's not bad. Core mentioned it will be around R1000 or so - not cool...

Are you sure they werent referring to the full version rather than the upgrade?

This is something I've been wondering about. Is there any clarity on whether Snow Leopard will require Leopard to be installed first? Or if you want to do a clean install will you need the box set?

Previously the upgrade and the full install were the same.
