Just a reminder that Apple's iPad mini event starts tonight at 19h00. (Local Time)

For those interested, you can watch the liveblog from:

The Verge

or

Engadget

That it is a ipad mini event isn't a given.

Yeah, this. We're expecting the iPad Mini/Air... but... What about the refreshed ful-sized iPad? What about the Retina display 13" MacBook Pro? What about the iMac and Mac Mini? I figure the new iTunes will also be out today and probably a new version of iBooks as well.

I think it's pretty much a given.
"A little more to show you". Their marketing department wouldn't have chosen this saying for no reason.
I am also hoping/expecting that the new iTunes will be released today.

iPad Mini Media Event (Video Streaming via Apple's Website)

Nice to see Apple offering a live video stream of the event. Let's hope this isn't just a once off thing.

Stream will be available here: http://www.apple.com/apple-events/october-2012/

Live streaming video requires Safari 4 or later on Mac OS X v10.6 or later; Safari on iOS 4.2 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later.

Apples marketing dept. are very smart. "A little more to show you" and focusing on iPad Mini, Mac mini and a smaller rMBP. Can't wait to see it as always.

New 13 inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

The big unknown at this point is the new thin Imac design. There was some talk of it perhaps showing up at this event, although it is highly unlikely given how jam packed this event will be. I can't wait to see how its going to look because from a design perspective weight and size is limiting factor with laptops, phones, and tablets causing them to follow fairly predictable paths. There isn't really much you can do with a laptop's shape - for the next few years atleast - which hasn't already been perfected by the current Macbook Air design. The Macbook Air has achieved in many ways what Jony ive describes of an "inevitable design".

But with a tall 27 inch slab you can do far more than has been done. The current imac is quite frankly uninspiring at this point, I'm really sick of the design.

What would really get the juices flowing would be a move up to an extremely thin and elegant 32 inch 4k imac. Yoh, now that would get the juices flowing. Sharp have already shown they are beginning to produce 32inch near 4K panels using IGZO tech, so i guess it'l happen eventually, but maybe only in a year or two.

And don't forget that it'll show us essentially what they plan to do with the rumoured Apple tv.

That will make a few people happy.

How's that looking for you?

Looks interesting, but I still wouldn't buy one, they're too expensive.
