Applying for Mauritian Passport

@ korn, I have both south african and british passport, and have citizenship for both.
 
Your info is outdated. Dual citizenship is now allowed if you got it via your parents and you don't use the foreign one within SA borders.
 
Thanks for the replies :) All you need to know is is that I was born in Durban so I am South African(will always be proud of it).My dad is a SA citizen and my mom came to SA for work and met me dad(From Mauritius).
 
Guys can I still apply without my SA ID,it has suddenly vanished ;(

Can't I just use my SA passport?

You will need to apply for the approval letter from the SA dept of Home Affairs first to allow you to have dual Citizenship. For the letter you require your birth certificate and ID book so you will need to find your id book or apply for a new one before you apply for the letter.

This is untrue.
 
Got my mauritian ID in six days from application :) They are busy because they are rolling out the new id card like south africa but yeah they knew we were on holiday and she asked them to speed it up for us .

Congrats. Did you get the new ID card?
My ID card is the old one, I had it issued the same day as application.
At the offices in Port Louis?

Yup the new card. First went to port louis(they no longer have the place where you queue down the stairs-went to the ummm square building?) They put me on the system but I think the internet across the island failed so they called goodlands to notify them that I was coming the next day. I think they have temporary offices everywhere due to the new card
