Aramex global shopper

@DeeinSouthAfrica Made my first purchase with Taobao. I'm 100% certain I got the address correct. It's my default address (the aramex hong kong location) but for some reason, maybe the translator is the issue but it says it's going to a completely different location. Literally every single thing of it is wrong not sure if it's the source or destination but it says.

Delivery address: No.42, E District, Yongfeng Wholesale City, No.13, Shijie Road, Baiyun District, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China 510663 Tian Chongyu

Which is clearly not anything close to the Aramex address

and then below it there's

Receiving address: which just has 0000 followed by name and a random cell number which is not any number I entered on this site. Not the aramex or my own.

[Edit]

Managed to get to the actual delivery information. From what I can decipher it looks like it goes to one location first and then from there it's forwarded to the Aramex address which they got right perfectly as i put it in the default address settings of my account. These guys have some weird ass processes.

Now that I broke it up into pieces I see it now. Makes sense. Just kept the original message in tact in case anyone else had this issue.

Basically the "one location" is the courier company depot LOL! Not some wrong address. So basically like TCG or Fastway it goes to the depot first and then heads along the road to destination which you have to go digging for but is there somewhere in trenches of the information on the website.

@DeeinSouthAfrica Wanted to thank you again for sharing the information about Taobao. This place to me is a goldmine for finding things that aren't sold anywhere else.
Please send me the link to that same taobao information

I'm sure it's been mentioned, however: could someone recap how AGS works with multiple small items from eg. eBay? Do they combine?

And is the current suggested AGS location to ship to (for China sellers), still New York?

Thank you
You will only get combined items if you order multiple items at the same time to hopefully reach an Origin at the same time.
If you are on Flex they will combine and split the shipping between the parcels.
If you are not on Flex they will do this only if you are very lucky.
New York is best for ebay orders. Some Chinese say they are posting from Hong Kong when in fact it comes from Malaysia. Rather let them use e-packet to NY (a fast preferential service).

No, they do not combine at all. I'm on Flex and I've had multiple packages at the NY hub but the were not combined. I queried this with Aramex and they replied;

The system automatically calculates your discount on the flex rate once your shipments are added on the same flight.

Maybe it depends on flights. I think JFK have multiple flights to Dubai daily (and most of our shipments are via Dubai). Your parcel could be on its way in the morning and an hour later another parcel arrives in NY.
Shanghai on the other hand are slower. As long as you get your orders there on the same day you have a good chance of getting a combined shipping amount.
I have 11 parcels at Shanghai at the moment. I hope 10 will be send combined as they arrived same day. The one that says Need Invoice won't go with, but that's okay.

Got a surprise delivery today. After paying shipping I still expected to have to pay tax/duties. Not complaining, but this was for shoes, where I have paid tax in the past for all my other purchases.

Budgeted for duties, so this is like free money

Was the item less than R500

Anyone planning to shop black friday deals internationally?
Any goos sites or suggestions?

Even less than R500, shoes still attract custom/VAT fees. I know. Bought R200 shoes, paid almost 120% on VAT/customs. He just got lucky (it happens).
I'll tell them to donate the shoes to a charity rather than paying 120%

What duties are normally charged on shoes?

My favourite email to get late on a friday afternoon:

Good day

Kindly note that your shipment has been detained by customs.

The below documentation is required to initiate the release process:

Kindly note the above is a new request from customs, I will not submit to customs if the correct documents are not attached

How on earth do I need to get a bank statement with all of that.

Statement is emailed once a month, and cut off right before this specific transaction.

I get this kind of email from Aramex once a month. If item bought on ebay, give Aramex the ebay invoice and PayPal screen grab. If PayPal linked to your card, look for it on your bank app and screen grab if possible (or take a photo with another phone).
If you receive smses from bank, send that screen grab as well. Same goes for emails from the bank.
Make sure you send only .jpg or .pdf format.
In future, when you pay for anything, make an immediate bank screen grab. Saves a lot of hassle later.

Shot thank you.
I sent the following:
- ebay order details screenshot
- screenshot for the transaction on paypal (opened up details)
- downloaded transactions from fnb, highlighted the transaction. Problem is, it doesn't show all the details at the top that a statement would, but the rand value, and paypal transaction name match up at least.

Don't FNB also send you an email when you pay, telling you how much the transaction was and how much money you have left? If so, that usually has the FNB logo and a FNB advert at the bottom.

Only if you have enabled it. I have set mine to only send it to the FNB app for me.
Lol, time to enable it before Aramex send you more love letters about stopped shipments.
Interesting about how you got a letter and I got a letter same day. I can imagine a short fat customs officer in JHB standing in a sea of parcels, pointing a well-chewed pen and saying; "spot check that one and that one and that one and that one..."
