Aramex global shopper

Just a reminder for people who use Far East Origins that it is Chinese New Year, where things come to a halt.
Shanghai might not move things for two weeks, so be prepared. I can't speak for a busier Origin such as Hong Kong, but I think there will be a delay getting things to JHB from there too.

If you have tracking, then your phone is not lost. They might not be able to scan while in customs as it should be stored in a high value area, so you will have a gap of a couple of days where no information is logged.

They have no record of it being scanned into South Africa customs told me it was never received at the warehouse. Spoke to someone this morning and they are starting an investigation on it's whereabouts.

The tracking works up to the point where it tells me the package left Dubai on the 29th after that no updates.

There is a known issue of mobile phones being stolen before coming to S.A

What upsets me is they will waste a month with their investigation and by than the Rand will be screwed and even if I have to rebuy it, I will be paying even more

Soo... Amazon delivered a package on Monday at the NY depot, but nothing is showing up yet on the AGS website?
Is this normal to wait 3 days before it gets added?
Same thing happened to me last week, AGS Jhb told me to wait 3 working days, "which is normal" and only then will they query it with NY. AGS App tracking is also way behind. An event from yesterday morning only showed on the tracking today.

Looks like the AGS website is broken..

I get a "Could not load data. Please try again later " when I try and view my packages

Hi

Do they allow grouping? Like more than one item or only ship one.

I do this very successfully via Shanghai.
1) Pay the R1500 Flex membership
2) Order from wherever you want in one go. In other words, get all your orders placed at one time.
3) Settle back and pray they get to the Origin address on the same day, as they get weighed together as one parcel.

This only works with an Origin address that is not that busy (not Hong Kong or UK) and it is only for Flex customers.

Thanks!

Is aramex still having issues with deliveries?

I want to order something now but see people having some problems

Have you tried the app? It works the same as online.

You can also use the Shop & Ship app. This international app mirrors the South African app. It is also better than the SA Aramex Global Shopper app as it tells you at a glance how many hours / days ago your shipment was last scanned.

I have the app and seems to be working but have you seen your items moving along? Like haven't been stuck or so.

Going to make my first order with AGS, do I just add the shipping address on my profile eg. USA address to the site I'm buying from and does aramex inform me when the package has been received to them

Any idea what the charges will be for ordering a few boxes of protein bars?
It's going to be interesting to see if you get away with it.

You cannot import perishables:
Foodstuffs, Perishable Food Articles, Beverages requiring refrigeration or other environmental control.

Protein bars seem not to fall under this as they don't easily perish and have long sell by dates. However... They are foodstuffs. Grey area.

As to the weight? Buy an equivalent locally, weigh it and times it by how many bars you intend to bring in.

Then calculate weight on the Aramex Global Shopper home page.

Will the bars be classified as supplements?? If so then it will be 20% duties and 15% vat

This is not Global Shopper specific, but I've recently ordered from Amazon and they use Aramax for delivery. Has anyone experienced that Aramax is extremely slow in delivering packages locally? It takes about twice as long for the package to get from Joburg to the George area than it takes for the package to get from the US to SA and going through customs. Package is was released from customs 2 days ago and now shows as "delayed in transit" in PE. Not sure what that even means.

Also has anyone run into that whole 3 import packages allowed before having to register as an importer issue?

Has anyone ordered anything from swappa with Aramex before?

After the sale on swappa I got given a usps tracking number which, If I check, says that it has arrived at the springfield gardens branch. Now, a package from the same swappa seller has been added to my aramex account, but the shipping number is completely different and the cost of goods is also completely different to the thing I ordered on swappa. Is it possible that someone elses swappa package, from the same seller, has accidentally been labelled as mine?

Or could the swappa seller have accidentally given me the wrong tracking number?
