Use the online query system as the jhb team liaises with the Aramex guys overseas.

I’ve got 4 packages on the way, seems they are back to normal nearly.

Is there a way to calculate the import duties or does that have to come from the JHB office ? Still waiting for them after their Facebook promised to have it resolved yesterday

That's SARS, not aramex. You can calculate it roughly but it depends on the exchange rate they utilise. For electronics or items without customs duties, you can take the invoice value in for.cur times exchange rate, add vat then add another 10% on top of it all.

R 1360 x 1.15 x 1.1 = R 1 720 then I just need to add the shipping correct ?

Thanks, what sites have you guys used for electronic items in the US. Tried Amazon, Newegg, WallMart and Best Buy but they are out of stock till 12 August. Any other recommendations ?

Yeah there is inconsistency on that front. They sometimes add the shipping cost too plus any US tax.

And the rate is always at least 0.6 worse than spot.

You're not supposed to be paying taxes on shipping... If you did then you should ask for a refund.

Package finally on route. Apparently seller didn't put my Account Details on the address.
Would have been a lot easier to resolve if Aramax JHB actually answered emails. Once they created a case with UK, package is finally on route. 3 weeks for a reply is ridiculous

I called aramex yesterday to enquire about a parcel that was delivered at hong kong hub last week Wednesday but has appeared on the app. I was told they have a huge backlog they are still processing parcels from July, so initially the waiting period was 10 day but now they dont know.

You'll need to request a commercial invoice for a return from Amazon then following the steps on Amazon (shipper labels etc..) I took my return (not a phone though and from Amazon US but since its Amazon, process should be the same) to Postnet for DHL express.
They do refund a portion of the shipping cost as well.

Edit: Scratch that, shipping cost unlikely to be refunded, apologies missed the AGS part.

Finally bought my headset. Was 75$ plus an additional 6$ for taxes, shipping was free. Will give a full cost update once I receive the product. Estimated saving is around R 300 which is not a lot but time isn't really an issue so I will just have to wait and see.

Has anyone used DHL Parcel for local shipping in Germany? My package is awaiting collection at a DHL outlet in Pirmasens (+-150km from Raunheim) since Tuesday...

You can claim a shipment online, no need to try call.

They didn’t assign it to my account so couldn’t do that. So much so that they “lost” it for a while. Mailed JHB who had to ask UK where my package was. They found it yesterday.

I'm saying even if they don't assign it to your account you can claim it for yourself. You need the tracking number of the item, eg UPS, DHL, USPS etc

In the track your shipment section in the screenshot, you enter the USPS number or whatever. Then you click "claim".
