Aramex global shopper

I am going to look at using paypal and see what their invoice looks like. Perhaps I can join their invoice and the stores order confirmation onto one document and upload that.
 
I see they have changed the name and it's now called Shop and Ship.

I'm having a very frustrating time trying to sort out the payment error I posted about earlier - their website had an error during checkout and subtracted the money from my card, but the payment is still showing as pending. My shipment is currently being delayed due to this :(

Just upload the order confirmation from the site you're using with the paypal email or email PoP from your bank and it will be fine. Is how I always do it. Don't have to join documents or ask for commercial invoices etc etc etc...

They need the proof of payment(either paypal or your banks credit card transaction notification) to see how much you paid for it.
They need the order confirmation to see what it is for shipping policies and tariff determination.

Just make sure these two amounts match...

You can upload both on the site. That upload feature is the best part of global shopper. No need to worry about getting sellers to invoice you and attach it to the parcel with your ID number, mothers maiden name and finger prints.

hmm... I am having issues trying to pay with my FNB credit card. It just says declined, when I phone FNB they cant even see the attempted transaction on my card so something is definitely up with their payment system then.

Hopefully you get it right. Don't forget to put in the first 6 digits of your FNB card with SHIP "123456SHIP" to claim R75 off. :D

I remember having a conversation with Mark Mahoney about AGS and he said the people who owned the Shop and Ship domain and name in South Africa wanted some exorbitant amount for it. He laughed them off and chose to go with AGS instead.

As for that registration code, BLOGAGS5, I have contacted the lady at Aramex who I got it from and asked her if she'll be able to reactivate it for me. I'll report back if I have any luck. ;)

AGS were having trouble on their payment gateway. I was able to pay this morning.
 
Is it normal to get charged duties when the total value of goods is less than R400? I have two packages less than R400 and there is an SAD500 attached to them with duties.
 
This is the breakdown,

It is supposed to be 20% for import duty, 5% Excise, and 14% VAT. The 20% calculation seems correct however I am not sure how those base values are arrived at when doing the 5% and 14% parts?
 
R500 is not a hard limit, probably would have gotten away with no duties had there not been an ad valorem tax on it.

VAT base is 110% of the value and schedule 2b(excise/ad valorem) is on 115% of the value. It's correct.

My issue with Aramex and the payments has still not been sorted out and I'm still waiting for my parcels :( It's extremely frustrating. I actually received another parcel (had no issues with this one) this morning that was sent later than these ones.

Mark Mahoney phoned me this morning and he is investigating. The payments I made on the 24th are still pending in my FNB account. I'm not sure how these transactions work and if they will expire after a certain period if Aramex doesn't complete the transaction from their side? They really messed this one up.

I managed to pay successfully now as well. They still havent replied to my email though, so I just hope everything else goes smoothly.
