You also require an official letter from the bank stating that you have an account there and are in good standing. This is in addition to the bank statement that also must have their letterhead, details and stamp.

I think it will be easier to just give them my first-born child. :wtf:
 
I had a parcel delivered yesterday morning at the NY Aramex offices, and it's already on it's way to South Africa. That's the quickest I've seen it move from arrival at the offices to being on it's way to SA in quite some time. Let's see how long it takes to be delivered this side.

I suppose now that it's January no one has money to buy things from overseas so Aramex are left twiddling their thumbs :D

Haha, more to my advantage. Ordered the stuff three weeks ago though, but it was only posted last week Wednesday, and arrived at Aramex yesterday. With any luck the Aramex delivery portion will be shorter then that!

Have any of you been brave enough to try ordering something like a cellphone or bluetooth speaker recently using AGS? Just wondering whether they're actively enforcing their battery shipping rules.

Reason I ask is that I ordered a cellphone from Geekbuying in December and opted for TNT courier shipping (don't do this, they're a horrible company and will hold you parcel hostage until you pay exorbitant admin fees). There was a sticker on the package warning that it contained a battery but it was still delivered.

My delivery yesterday was a JBL Flip 3 Bluetooth speaker. Before that I ordered a JBL Flip 2 Bluetooth speaker and liked it so much I ordered the Flip 3. No problem with AGS.

With Cellphones, ask seller to ship battery separately.

As in delivered to you or arrived in SA? All my parcels are in limbo. Some are stuck in the VC cage, other's have are supposed to be here but have not been updated and others are stuck in customs for a week.

Thanks for the feedback! Keep in mind that a lot of modern phones have non-removable batteries these days.

Ordered my first product using this service.Got 'Stuck' in NY after i uploaded my invoice.3 Days it got shipped.I assume they using SAA Flight 204 from JFK so it should arrive in the morning.
Do they clear items on the weekend?

Lol its a budget courier service - they wont use premium carriers such as SAA, it will be routed on some cheaper airline, often via Cairo.
