Ok I think I've found all of them... Busy downloading.

Now I have stumbled across something called Romcentre and mame merge. Anyone heard of these?

Ok So I had a hectic few days primering. Today was a bit of a disaster. I decided to use aerosol paint to put the final coat on the cabinet. I usually use Rust-Oleum it works like a charm. I have the little attachment that makes it work like a normal spray gun. I have used it about 5 times now with absolute success. So I go to makro to buy some aerosol paint ( I have a voucher for them so I been visiting a bit). They only have the plascon aerosol. Ah well I think, I'l give it a go.
BAD. The paint covers an area of about a R5 coin from about 30cm, it splatters, and it lays it on way too much. I had such a bad uneven cover with splatters and runs everywhere. Had to wait for it dry before sanding it and then painting it with a sponge roller (which I shoulda done in the first place). Its looking good now. A light sand tomorrow and then the final coat I think. I forgot to take pics of the primered cabinet :p, but I will post pics of it painted tomorow.

Things to do:
I need to get some 15 x 15mm aluminium angle to hold the Marque panel in place.
I also need to get some perspex for the screen overlay and the conrtol panel. I tried the UHI and some PlexiGlass I had lying arround. They both just shattered. Although I might try some uhi again if I can find another piece big enough. It almost worked, just shattered right at the end of the cutting.
Marque panel. I'm busy cutting something cool out of a piece of 10mm Perspex. I'll post some pics of it tomorrow.
Marque light.
Back door panel sanding and painting.
Paint
Fit controls
Fit speakers and marque light
Fit PC and LCD

ETA 2 weeks. Unless I can "organise" a couple of afternoons off this coming week. Then it'll be done by next weekend.
Well the cabinet anyway. Still trying to nail down hyperspin. And I'm busy downloading all the extra content from EmuMovies.

A small compressor with Glasurit would have been much better but not always possible.

MiniMame will be delayed :(

I shot down to builders warehouse to get a couple of things and on the way back I came off the bike. I was only going about 60 so just a couple of scrapes, except I broke my left thumb. Stupid actually.
Anyway so I'm going to see the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow.
I could probably sand with one hand but I'm not sure I will survive the head injuries if my wife catches me :D

You guys should just but all your pictures into a blog :) with your little narrative.. Easier to follow and nice for a reference one day :)

But good Work!! Hope your thumb comes right.. Don't want it to hamper your gaming skills on the MiniMame :)

Sweet :) with all you guys building these things, it will be a nice guide for when i do..
BTW did any of you put yours on wheels? Dont the cabinets get quite heavy? Even like wheels on the back and feet in the front?

Quick question - how big are all the videos for the Hyperspin Frontend? because there are thousands of Roms out there and Videos are quite hungry for 1's and 0's

also, can anyone post a link to where you get the Video Samples?

Depends which ones you want. I downloaded all the video previews for the full Mame set and for Daphne. It's just over 15gb.

Just do a search for Emumovies on a couple of torrent sites, I'm sure you'll find it.

ok so its not all so bad. The worst by far is my sprained angle and wrists. The broken thumb is annoying but its splinted now, and it should heal up ok by itself. If I can drive tomorrow I'm going to get some 3mm ppx for the control overlay and have it printed.

I have made the design quite colorful to go with the buttons. Edit: Its a lot darker in the original format than in the jpg. I just can't be bothered to mess with color management right now.

This is what the cabinet currently looks like: (bad photo's sorry, my hands are not so steady atm)

This is the marquee. I need to do some serious sanding on the aluminium before I paint it black.

This is the marquee held up to the light

I'm goint to get some translucent blue vinyl and stick it behind the letters so it will shine blue.

madman - your marquee rocks, seriously.....much better than RVZ's imo (sorry mate, hehe)

but...uh

WTF are you doing to your MiniMame by destroying it with that control panel graphic?

I'll see If I can make you a better one - just tell me what you want on it.
