Arcade Game Project

This is so flippen cool I am drooling on my keyboard!

What are those two slots at the top below the marquee? Slots for the speakers to be heard?

If I was you I would print some kick-ass vinyl to stick on the sides though - costs roughly R300 per 1,2m x 1m

Lol. Yeah, those are the holes for the speakers.

Thought about printing something and sticking it on the sides... maybe later, for now I'll only have pics on the control panel and marquee.

Arrrg, you posted on INT, I will have to wait till i go on INT

sorry, meant to say "a nice kick plate"

A kick plate is generally a strip of rubber or plastic that runs along the front bottom of an arcade machine. Its primary purpose is to protect the front of the game since people have a tendency to kick the front, or rest their foot on it.

although I would say a "grated" Chrome Metal strip would look better...

It's basically for those "Close Games", like in street fighter, where it's round 3, a very tight match and then your buddy takes the last hit - he might kick that nice Arcade unit of yours - the kickplate is to protect it.

I would rather let people kick it and not be worried at all, then to say "hey, be gentle with my arcade machine" all the time.....

people do it - I guess if you are having mates over and alcohol is involved, even more so!

Lol

I have 2 bar chairs that I'll be using with mine, so hopefully that won't happen. Finishing some games just takes too long to be standing.

Coin door fitted. I modified the coin mechs to work with the Wonderland tokens. I wanted to use R2 coins, but struggled to get it working perfectly every time. It was easy to get R5 coins working, but that's a bit too much, so I opted for the tokens instead. I still have to go buy some more tokens at our local arcade. The coin reject buttons also have led lights in, so I'll have to get power from a usb port for that as well.

Man its looking sooo good!

I ordered my controls this afternoon. I was going to start with the thing tonight but I been wrestling the gate motor all evening. Tomorrow night for sure!

How long did it take for your controls to arrive?

Wow, that's REALLY awesome!

but what made you choose to make that arcade? Why didn't you want to make it like a racing one?

*It must have been a hell of an effort.. but anyway.. how long has it taken you so far?

This should get voted for the best thread. Awesome job!

Been wanting to make one of these for a while.

You should post a bill of materials and where you sourced your stuff from.
