Arcane for raiding

Well in all fairness you admitted that arcane is basic to play so why do you need a thread about it aside to e-peen to everyone about your crazy DPS and Op spec...

Your mages must be ****ing useless or you out-gear them heavily. Given a warlock in any spec, an arcane mage in equivalent gear will destroy you. I'm not talking about 500/600 dps, more like 1k - 1.5k

I don't PvE with my Warlock anymore :p For that I have a Protection Pala ;)

Did you miss the part where I started playing Arcane yesterday? I still have almost no idea what the best spell rotations and macros are. Fk bru.. stop being such a bee with an itch. Get over your mage pms. Stop drawing the wrong assumptions about me and I get it.. you dont like arcane mages because the other kids dont want to play with you. Throw your toys out of your cot elsewhere.

I said my arcane dps was higher than my frost dps.. I didnt mention numbers or anything. Im a new 80.. this is my first toon and I am not fully kitted yet. I dont even dps as high as most of the kitted classes in my guild. My dps is actually pathetic and I was watching a nicely kitted shammy totally out perform me yesterday.

Before yesterday I didnt even know you what a Missile Barrage was.

@Pitbull.. yeah.. and invisibility is near usless as well with all the dots a warlock puts on me *sigh*, Im ganna go find a warrior later just to feel better about myself.

Hey lets be honest. I mentioned it before, WoW is a group game. And just like life we will target those who are easy pickings. I love taking out my rage I get from Rogues on Mages and anyone in range of my DoTs :D

If I want to top the "Damage Done" and "Killing Blows" I just run and DoT every person within range. Just keep running and Dot'ng instant DoT's. I do die plenty when doing this but I out damage everyone by MILES.

Okay well here we go.

Rotation? Mash Arcane Blast, Icy Veins + Arcane Power at the same time w/e they're off c/d. Cool that's it man, seriously that is the extent of an arcane mage's dps rotation.

Want some tips on how to abuse game mechanics?

TotC 25/TotC10.

Beasts: Time your Icy Veins + Arcane Power with Icehowl's dazed debuff.
Jarraxus: Spellsteal his buff, do hilarious damage.
Faction Champs: spellsteal Bloodlust/Heroism for lulz.
Twins: Make sure you have 1 point in Incanter's Absorption. You passively adsorb damage the whole fight so you effectively always have an extra 1k spellpower thanks to Incanters. Destroy meters and laugh again.
Anub'arak: If it's easy mode just blow Anub up, if it's hard mode or heroic or w/e rather spec fire. Wait for the add swarm, shove living bomb on everything you see. Enjoy watching 9 living bombs deal damage to 12+ targets constantly. Ye your dps will be insane here too.

Cool, need more info? Your class isn't hard to play at all.

It is about time that mages get back to the stage they were before TBC! They should top the dps charts, it is where they belong. They were the best AOE class in the game, then everyone else got a better aoe. I may even consider dusting off my level 70 mage and get her ready for level 80 raids ;)
 
Please tell me when mages have actually sucked that much? Throughout Vanilla they were -the- dps class. In TBC they were very competitive right up until late T6 content. I'll admit that Sunwell was kind of a screw up but Sunwell was a screw up for many classes.
 
In vanilla they were THE dps class. In TBC they were barely competitive, most vanila mages turned to other dps specs for raiding. (I was one of them). Looking back at our damage reports and the ones from other guilds, mages never featured in the top 5 dps slots (unless the other dps classes just sucked). Even shadow priests and moonkin droods were higher in dps... Not to mention BM hunters...
I presume your a warlock? Remember all the mage cries during TBC of OP warlocks in PVE and PVP?
 
Mages are supposed to be "Glass Cannons" (yes same old cliche). Considering the fact that a strong breeze usually puts us in a coma. It's quite nice that we are compensated with high DPS.

Nothing funnier than a poor mage trying feebily to bandage himself to forestall the inevitable.
