Ok, time for that long overdue update! A lot more has happened behind the scenes than what these few pics are going to show, but I'll get to that in a bit...
So, first off, I was trying to sleeve the SATA data cables when I realised that I could still see the cable underneath :/ Took me a while, but I finally had a brain wave, and figured, no prob, I'll just make the cables black as well and then it wont matter. It was as simple as taking some black tape and putting it on
As you can see there is still a small strip showing, so I put on two strips of tape and all was well. Now for some sleeving...

Then I was getting a bit tired off all the panels lying around, so I decide to put them all on, even though I'd likely be taking them off again soon. And along with it, you'll see my super tidy desk, haha. You'll also notice that I have changed the screws to button heads. I think it looks much cleaner now, and adding in the washers I bought a while back it really looks good. I just need to wipe all those fingerprints off, but I sure as heck aint gonna do that until everything is 100% done
And the last pic (if you didnt notice it earlier), I got some of the buttons in! The one one the left is power, the middle is reset, with the LED wired to HDD activity (so its off in the pic, PC wasnt doing anything), and the right side will be for switching the lighting. Alas, the only bit I could find to make these holes was really blunt. And then I overdid things a bit and probably made it worse than it should have been. It still turned out ok though but I will need to touch up things a bit. I also need to sleeve the temp monitors wires, cant have the fan controller reading 0°C now can we?
Then I had an epic failure... While fastening the SSD mount not one, but two screws snapped off :/ Now I could have lived with just one, and redone the mount later, but with two its forced me to do the rework now. So off I went to buy another piece of perspex, and cut it again, and drill it again. But this time I made sure to get a proper thread tap. So next time, the screws should go in nice and easy, no snapping! I do still need to cut that 45° edge on the new piece though, so thats next weekends job. I've also tried to sleeve the SATA power cables, but I'm struggling a bit. With the other connectors the heatshrink holds onto the terminal itself. But with the SATA, being a passthrough connector, there isnt enough space for the heatshrink. Which then forced me to apply it outside the connector, but then it doesnt grip properly. So I'm still finding a way around that...
I also might have an ace up my sleeve... Maybe, just maybe, I've found a way to light up the motherboard the way I wanted to.. Only time will tell. Thats all for now everyone, until next time.
