Are we still whiners?

I'm going to keep asking this in these my country is so bad blah blah blah threads.

1.) It happens - what are you doing to counter it besides bitching with your keyboard - Are you in your neighbourhood watch, police forum meetings - Residents Association - what are you doing?

2.) If its that bad then leave already dont need 100% negativity - try and make a change for the better or quit your bitching - seriously if life is that hard slit your wrists and depart already.

3.) DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE FOR YOUR COMMUNITY - if everyone did that situation would be a lot better - but no... - instead people sit behind high walls - electrified fences, living in fear - why when you have the option to make a difference?

Well, after this year's load shedding and the direction the country's economy may now take, are those of us who "whined" about poor planning and lack of skills in key areas, still "whiners"?

How many people have changed their minds in regards to immigration/emigration?
Curious as to both directions here - and for the sake of argument, let us group immigration with "returning from abroad".

Spoke to a friend resident in the UK last week - always said he would come back to ZA when he turned 30 - he is here on a visit at the moment, and now he says he will never come back. The difference since his last visit a year ago is, I quote, "noticeable - and not in a good way". Considering that while on holiday the "edges are not as sharp*", that is damning.

No! We do not have the option. You and your government is disarming us the public and deliberately arming the criminals. You and your government is breaking down every infrastructure that ever existed. You and your governments is corrupting and defrauding the nation. You and your government feels and care nothing for the poor of this country! You and Your government is doing everything to late as you do not listen. There you have the crux of the problem. Tell us what you are doing apart from ordering computers spares on someone else's accounts? :D

Yes, I am - yet another secondary tax, since it costs money to run and the guavamint could be damned about supplying security.
So, in addition to ADT, I now pay towards and assist in a RA. Fanfarkingtastic.

2.) If its that bad then leave already dont need 100% negativity - try and make a change for the better or quit your bitching - seriously if life is that hard slit your wrists and depart already.

Ah - put up or fark off. Typical. There are things that need to be done, family that needs to be considered, and money to accumulate. The average emmigrant does not sneak over the border like a thief in the night - despite what happens in Africa.
I have a child from another marriage that does not live with me - ever consider leaving a child and going 10 000km away?
Of course, in Africa that is also not uncommon, so maybe my point is missed.

3.) DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE FOR YOUR COMMUNITY - if everyone did that situation would be a lot better - but no... - instead people sit behind high walls - electrified fences, living in fear - why when you have the option to make a difference?

You repeated this - it was point 1.

Listen here we know that sa is a awesome country to live in.Only problem is that there are way too many burdens on soceity here.Lets be honest the only reason why sa has infrastructure and is prodictive compared to therest of africa is cause we have whites.maybe blacks should read the book Capitalist Ni**er to see why whites have no time for africans messing up another country like zim.I mean look at africans track record around the world ,they are parasites on a country and hardly add value.Yes I am generalising but yes africans are economic slaves.Question is who are they going to be economic slaves to once whites have left. You trying to tell me they are suddendly going to create work when they have never done it in history and whites control more than 80% of economy.

I am leaving soon ,but does not mean that I am anti Sa.I am going to hedge my bets and sit on the side line.it is quite funny,I can get one of the best best education in the world at a discount at Stellenbosch University etc compared to other first world countries, but due to polotical polocies cant be used in my own country. Therefore I am going to add value to other countries but used the sa government for my education. One thing I know is that i will earn my income overseas and never pay tax to Sars as I will not see my taxes wasted in african ways. You do the maths the whites are getting taken advantage of in this country.Pay taxes create work ,help charities more than africans ,yet we are not so called african.Stuff you sa ,the past is the past and your lack of insight and competitiveness allowed the world to take advantage of you plus its still hapening so it is actaully your fault as you dont learn from history.I will not be taken advantage of.Goodbye
You africans are going to be slaves to the chinese anyway.

Nice bit of optimism there!

I see you also took advantage of us!

Good for you!

Why blame him and not AA and BEE for loosing his skills?

While I do not agree with, or condone, the tone and "phrasing" of his argument, I also do not argue the sentiment.

If SA does not want "us", then SA can hardly blame us for leaving.

You got me wrong.
I do blame Affirmative action and Black economic empowerment.
I got it against this silly notion that an uneducated, unskilled Black person can do a better job of running a company than a highly trained White person.

I am also on the unwanted list:
Male
Caucasian
47 years old
Ex conscript.

Totally unempolyable!

I have a good laugh at the English from time to time.

They supported the terrorists and let them walk around freely in the UK and shouted for change is SA. Now that the terrorist are in charge, there is a exodus of South Africans to the UK, both black and white and now why are bitching about the immigrants ;) To top it all, they seem not to like terrorist much anymore.

Oh man i'm out of here asap. Cant wait, 1st world New Zealand or Aus or even the UK.

It used to be even Kenya, now we see they inherited the same ethnic problems as the rest of Africa. So yes back to settlers-land where whites with common sense and the right cultural and scientific make up is in charge!

Not that easy.Sold the house.Still have the cars and the bussiness(for what it's worth now anyway)

So you sell your business or close it down when imigrate.Who looses out the poor black man again.Chances are you had domestic worker or gardener and you used to pay more taxes than those 3- 5 million illiegal immigrants. The snowball affect is starting unless africans can prove to the world that they can survive by themselves.I do have faith in some but not the majority looking how many unskilled burdens on soceity there are.

What i find unbelievable, is 3 things...

1) that people who voted no, used their common sense, when people who voted yes, didn't have any.
2) all the people who voted yes, have dissapeared.
3) and those who voted no, have to suffer the same fate as those who voted yes.

To an extent, but remember that they were the ones who paved the way for the ANC.

Not sure that the vote was to hand all power over to the ANC - we did have a Government of National Unity with FW as deputy until he pulled out in 1996. Pity he couldn't have stuck around for a few more years -- think about it: no arms deal, more power stations, no name changes...

What am I DOING?

I am PAYING my TAXES.

I agree, politicians the world over are all similar when you throw money at them. I don't mind a lot of the things that are happening at the moment in SA, but the load shedding is just too much. Its taken the whole thing to another level.

Quite prophetic, that place was referred to as the "Dark Continent" many, many moons ago. This I am afraid is the begining of the end. And the last one to leave wont even have to bother turning off the lights.:(
