You own all of the content and information you post on Facebook

Even if you do grant them some rights with IP it ends when you've deleted it.

Facebook is still a good way to meet up with old friends. I dont upload pics, dont do status updates or applications or any of that other crap. Seems to work quite well for me.
For the people whose lives revolve around facebook, I can understand why they might be concerned.

Why? As a photographer I post stuff up there all the time. The ToC are pretty clear that the photos I post remain my property.

Facebook is only doing pubicly what all are doing behind closed doors.

I see so many posts, I get xx or yy spam, where did they get my email from? I only use my email for (x Well known Corporate Site x). Well the honest truth is most companies who dont sell your information, exchange it with other non competitors.

I see the internet as a public building, you can close a door but someone may walk in at any time. Maybe it is Facebook who is being victimised for being open and honest about what they do with the data?

Anyway if you dont want your information to be public, stay off the grid (These days even that doesnt work, since your friends will "tag" you in photos, mention you in blogs etc.).
