Slightly different view. Its not about if you have time to take of for work, or if it will make a difference.

I ask this question:

One day, (if) you have kids, and they ask you, what did you do when this opportunity arose and there was a potential way to make a difference. What did you do. I dont think you want to say 'I was too busy at work to try'.

And if you can't get time off work, and would have to deal with a disciplinary for being AWOL, then what?

Well like I said if you can't go you can't. You don't need to even explain it to me at least because i know what responsibilities are. The issue I have is the mere lack of enthusiam and small expectations to what people can achieve. Why cry here "there's no point. Whaaa"? When you can just sit it out and help the economy get back on it's feet with your business? Which is just as good as a position BTW. But at least support the march and hope the protesters will at least draw enough attention to emphasise on the seriousness of the current situation.

If you risk your livelyhood, and can't go, then you need to be comfortable with that. If you asked your employer for a days leave and he says 'no' - then its understood and your call. Everybody has different circumstances.

We are giving staff off, and representing.

Without a doubt, its all about the circumstances.

I have an issue with the people in this thread just blanket blasting everyone who says they can't go.
 
The people that are going to march on friday, where are you going friday morning? Are you going to wake up and stand outside of your house? Some random intersection?

If people need to work on friday let them be, nothing wrong with it. When other people protest we are very quick to ask how they can afford it? Dont they have jobs and this is whats wrong with the country?

Respect people decisions, even if it differs from yours.

There are organised marches in almost every single major city in the country and most smaller ones as well, so most would probably go to those? I'll be heading to the Cape town one.

Remove Zuma March: 10am-1pm on 7 April
After the shocking late night Cabinet reshuffle and firing of the Minister of Finance last week, many residents have contacted me about what they can do to voice their protest. There are several small protest activities in the various suburbs - you can find out about these on the suburban Face Book Groups in your area.
But if you want to be part of larger group that will really show how angry you are, there will be a large march on the western side of Joburg's CBD. It has been organised by the DA (because someone has to arrange all the logistics and obtain permits etc), but it is not just a DA march.
To get there, I will be meeting at Fournos in Rosebank at 8am for coffee, then catching The Gautrain to Park Station at 9'04.
We will then catch the J2 Gautrain Bus to stop 7 (click here to download the J2 Bus Route Brochure) in Anderson St and then walk about 500m along Anderson St to the start of the march next to Westgate Rea Vaya station.
You can also Uber or park at The Sheds in 14 Alexander St, Ferreirasdorp and walk 300m south up Alexander St to the start.
See the map below for the key waypoints.
For a march of this size, there will be plenty of security staff, SAPS and JMPD on the roads in the area. They will help you if you get a bit lost trying the find the start.
The march will probably start around 10'30am and end around 1-2pm. I expect it will not be a direct route between the start and end it, but will take a 2km route through the CBD streets.
Afterwards, you can Uber home, walk back to The Sheds or catch the bus back to The Gautrain from Stop 10 on cnr Pixley ka Isaka Seme St (used to be Sauer St) and Kerk St.
If you are coming, please make sure you wear comfortable clothes and sensible shoes, bring a sunhat and sunscreen, water, a snack and make sure your cell is fully charged.

unfortunately, there were some french soldiers who did fight bravely, but history paints all french as cheese eating surrender monkeys.
those afraid to stand up might lead to Afrikaners being painted in the same light in 50 years time.

Where is this info as I have not heard of one organised march starting venue etc.

my question is, will there be militant groups organized indirectly by the clowns in charge. seen it a few times, certain groups rally to "defend" their chief.

we have been informed that the SAPS will be unable to protect our marchers and ensure their safety from threats of violence from the ANC. Numerous threats of violence have been received from the ANC’s Youth League, as well as certain branches within the ANC.

Your fruitless attempts at painting normal everyday hard working people as spineless are no different to the ANC's attempts at painting all white people as racists.

I am a normal hard working person.
I have never protested anything in the streets before in my entire life.

I did mention there are some cases where people simply cannot go to the march. those people are fine.

but those who refuse to even try, those people area spineless.

note the difference.
